Hey guys.

I've just recently bought myself a JDM 2.0L GRB STi 2008.

I want to try make 240kw out of this like my previous GDB (This one was moderately modified such as FMIC, Injectors, Full Exhaust, Fuel Pump, rebuilt VF22 (as it blew up lol))

However I want to keep the engine layout close to factory as possible.

Only mods ill do is custom full exhaust, Boost Controller, and a BOV is this really not enough for 240kw? Because I am sure I heard a few people were able to gain at least close to 240kw with factory top mount etc etc.

Any recommended Tuners out there in Auckland as well who specialises in Subaru ?? Because my main tuner GCP isn't very good with communication, + his dyno is broken or something he last told me in April 2015

Thanks <3

You would probably want to include an upgraded air intake - either a free-er flowing standard filter, or a full cold air intake.

Also do the Fuel pump as well, quite important if you want to increase the boost. Injectors also doesn't change the engine layout at all, and can help with overhead, making sure they don't over-work themselves. TMIC should be okay for that level of power on the street.

The TMIC on them is pretty big and would probbbbably handle that kind of power level.

I don't think a VF turbo (without modification) will make that power on a truthful dyno.

Erm... the grbs run 225kw factory, 305hp

Gentle tickle with the fueling and a few extra psi boost via factory ecu and 240kw should be easy. Dont bother with an ebc, the factory ecu can control a 3 port solenoid with better control and response than a sub $1k ebc can give

225fwkw maybe not 225wkw.

Correct. Factory rating 305bhp or 308ps, works out at about 225kw at the flywheel. I need to do some more logging to work out what kinda wheel kw's i'm putting out

Best mods for v7- is decent turbo, injectors, exhaust, fuel pump and tune. Let the damn thing breathe vfs are so limiting.

Get that thing on a dyno kiwi fozze..Probably 190-200 at the wheels ..

I intend to, the roadtest dyno i have is pretty damn close to the torque dyno, but i'm pretty skint atm. Sooo, i'm going to keep tinkering with the tune then late this year early next i'm hoping to get it on the dyno.

My grb is making an estimated 240kw at the flywheel with a gentle tickle, should catch up sometime and show you what a gentle tune can do for yah

Hey thanks, yeah I was confused yesterday because I saw a post where a guy tuned his GRB with a full exhaust and only managed to get 194kw ATW and in my head i was like that can't be right ?? but then it was ATW lol so missed out that part.

Any Recommened tuners in Auckland btw ?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
