I sold my V7 Sti 3 months ago for $16k, It took ages to sell and was a very tidy car. Personally I think if you pay anymore than that your wasting your money. Buy a 16k one and then spend 3k getting it tuned/reflashed, thats what I would do.

theres some very nice stock ver7 on trade me, there was a kitted 1,just the sti ad ons on there in sti blue 2, theres shit loads really

As above, buy DPI's Spec C. Well cared for, very tastefully modified, and it's a Spec C. It's a nice feeling getting into something that's a little bit special.

NOBODY likes any of the cars when they first came out barring of course the 1st gen of anything

they seem pertty reliable from the factory and the 6speed gearbox is not the weak like in previous models (5spd).

I haven't heard of anything major, just make sure u regularily service and alike ul be sorted.

Like said beofre, checkout DPI's spec c, that sti is mint..... Instant drive on track weapon If I had spare cash, I wouldn't of bothered caging mine and bought his instead.

I myself wasn't a bugeye fan at first, same with the v10 model but they have warmed up on me and I'd never turn down the chance to own one.

My one was really reliable, didn't have any problems at all bar the boost spikes it was getting (Because it had, exhaust and filter done).

Be aware of cambelt and clutch needing to be done at around 100,000ks and 120,000ks respectively

6 speed is a great box, huge improvement on the 5 speed. Would be nice if 6th gear was a bit higher as at 110km/h its still reving pretty high.

Real easy to modify these car's too as the ecu's are reflashable meaning you don't need to buy a aftermarket computer.

hmm maybe im biased but i love the v7 shape and never had any issues at all so it wud certainly tick the reliable box

From what I've seen simply a 3" exhuast, panel filter replacement/pod and an ECU flash can give u really really good results. If u have the money maybe upgrade to a Link G4 ECU.

Then there are tons of other mods, like suspension and all that to do. As u gotta be able to brake and corner better with the extra power u have.

using 98 petrol you should see about 180kw at the wheels

best mod is full exhaust and retune

should get about 220kw or so at the wheels

retune may be more expensive(worth it tho)

but an exhaust and good electronic boost controller + cold air intake = should still see 205-210kw at the wheels (thats what a mates car made with thoes mods 208kw)

I have learnt something new today, I had an inkling there was a model that had the DCCD.

Oh I forgot to mention one more mod....... Rollcage haha ;D, I've been bitten by the racing bug now lol so it's always on mind when I think car mods.
