Meh Mobil 8000 is better, and always available :P I swear my car runs better on it (probably just in my head, but who knows).

However, because NOBODY knows what it'll do to our fuel systems in the long term, there is no way of knowing how safe it is.

I only put ultimate in my GTO but was surprised when I asked the guy at Mobil what the octane of 8000 was and he said 98. Theres always octane boost from repco and supa cheap too if u HAVE to use 95 but hate the idea.

They have under estimated demand...

Still, pretty bloody poor effort...it's not like they are short of a few bucks to hold more stock, after all they are charging more for it even when the cost of crude drops.... ???

By the way, what's with the Mobil 8000 being bad for your engine... i thought that was the Gull with its dolphin loving, tree hugging chemicals????

Mobil is also a form of E10 down these ways. I think I remember hearing that it was also being rolled out round the rest of the country progressively...?

I too am in the believers camp when it comes to biofuel. I have run it in both my Legacys and had at least equal performance, the RS seemed to run a little better at Manfield on the weekend using the Gull Force 10 compared to the BP 98 I put in it later in the day. However that may well be just a mind trick, I have no hard data either way.

What? Since when was Mobil 8000 biofuel? I thought it was only in Wellington or something. In Hamilton there's nothing on the pumps or anywhere that states that it's anything other that 98 petrol.

NO 98 UNTILL 28TH apparently... But there is a shipment of 98 arriving in Mount Maunganui on the 25th, or leaving Aus on the 25th.

But yeh, there's very short stock, all the remaining shipments are being pushed into all the BP Sites on main state highway 1.

If it has no ethanol blend, abuse it as much as you want. Just remember than when there is a blend, that's when we all become lab rats to see how long it takes before the ethanol eats at our fuel system.

Yeah once it becomes an ethanol blend i'll be reluctantly going back to BP98.

Huh?

I tried to fill up sunday at glenfield; started pumping and it just dribbled out (if your laughin you have a filthy, filthy mind), got to about a litre and i put the pump back.

Tried again for about 400ml and gave up, drove to the next pump and did the same...only then did the attendant (in full view the whole time) bother to come and tell me they had run out???

Nice customer service and comunication BP!

still, i did get 1.4 litres of 98 for nothing...

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
