Fake STI

That's right, he's calling it STI in the title - which it is not.

Would've been totally fine if he just said it's a GT spec.B with a few STI bits (apart from ezylip with a "ebay special" STI badge on it. If it's not STI then don't call it one no matter how much (supposedly) STI bits you put on it. IMHO

Those wheels tho.... tasty.

Also want that 260k speedo, was that an 07> update?

This is the real deal http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/subaru/auction-967881036.htm

Pity about the auto though.

NZ New cars get the 260km/h Speedo. I have one on my 3.0R too. Means I can actually see how fast I am going on the top straight at Hampton Downs :-)

Haha fair enough. I've only got the 180km speedo, being JDM.

I actually wouldn't mind that as an auto... specially around Akl

To be fair if you listed every impreza with sti badges you'd have far far worse examples and far more of them (or older legacy... or forester).

This is a pretty tidy car and it's done in good taste, who cares, he makes it very clear it's just "STi Parts added" not the car being some special edition

No different to every second BMW on the road getting random M badging

True that. Always have a bit of a chuckle whenever i see a 318i with a whole load of poorly placed M badges and 'sports' accessories

And there's stacks more of these on Trademe than Subaru's with sti badges chucked on. Just that we can all see what Subaru's aren't proper sti :D

I'd just like to point out that everyone has their own taste and personal touches and it would be a boring world without it. You're not a true enthusiast until you can respect others vehicles no matter how ridiculous you may think it is, it's their own ride, the way they want it to be, and if they're proud of it they shouldn't be put down because you feel the need to express to everyone about how BS you may find it. This is a perfect example of showing everyone what makes your car your own.

Personally I think the guy has done a great job even though its a GT, had me fooled for a few moments. :o

FYI im not having a dig at you, im just trying to make a point.

Just to make it clear.

Got no issues with those personalising their cars - each to their own and I do it myself.

Want to stick a cheap TM badge on it or a bunch of stickers, that's fine. Just don't call it STI when you decide to sell it. The title of the listing is misleading.

Hope it's all clear now.

Very true. But I can also see sobanoodles point, there are guys on TM that try and advertise their scoobs as something they're not.

Not worried with guys that make their ride personalised. I've done it to mine.

But there are those that do try rip buyers off by adding a few sti bits on to and try flick it off as one. Not a hundy with that. I think that's what sobanoodle's trying to get at

EDIT: already been answered. replying to an earlier post without turning the page... doh.
