Hey guys,

Im going to change the Oil in my Subaru legacy B-spec Manual and the manuals recommend 75w-90. All i can find in my local shops are 75w-90 semi-synthetic or 80w-90 full-synthetic.

New Zealand obviously doesn't have a hot average temperature so im guessing this wouldnt help the car as well as the manuals recommending 75w-90.

What are your guys opinions?

I’ve just got castrol Universal 80w-90 in mine. Couldn’t be arsed getting multiple overpriced 1L bottles of the better 75w-90 Syntrax

I'm using the valvoline semi-syn in my early 6 speed. I got it second hand and has a notchy 4th gear synchro. The gearbox seems good apart from the one synchro.

However, I am tempted to try the motul gear 300 as it has good reviews for dodgy synchros.
