Removing door cards while door is shut

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone knows how to remove a door card while the door is shut? I have a GRB and was changing speakers and when putting the right rear door card back on, I didn't see that the door and lock cables had come loose and subsequently closed the door 😩

TIA

Slim Jim? though I've been warned for 'inserting anything' into anything newer than 1990 aye (knocks things around & can make thins worse)

though might be your only hope to pull the mech (or push) the latch aye

I'm thinking the door is locked. I only disconnected the cables on the internal handle so the outer handle should be fine. The lock switch inside is loose.

Thinking cutting the door card might be my only solution and then replace it.

Open to other suggestions! I'll Google slim Jim

I also wondered if with the window switch cover removed and the screw behind it you might be able to wiggle your hand or something around enough to get hold of the cable and try pull it through the hole to pull the inner cable

Tried that @Andy_Mac but there isn't enough space to fit a hand.

How free was the cable? Completely removed from the assembly or was it just the inner not attached? Some bent over wire might still have some luck before trying more destructive methods.
