seriously F8ck off or be constructive. clearly i was after more/usual information than that

Calm down. He answered your questions.

He obviously has one. You can find them secondhand and yes they are expensive. (Same information now but with more words........conterproductive really).

You can ring places like PBM that build alot of rallycars and they may be able to source secondhand bits. Otherwise go searching on the net for new stuff out of Aussy thats gonna cost about $1800+

Loren just bought one recently, from someone on here - factory 2nd hand I believe. For quite cheap (ie a couple of hundred). I know - cos I almost bought it first. Then decided I should concentrate on getting my car running first!

cool thanks, sounds like he got lucky..

Yeah unfortunately they dont seem to come up often. And you have to pull the box apart to fit them (Rick could probably do easily enough I imagine). So if you can find one now, would be worth doing while you have it out. But good luck with finding one!

And the ones Koom mentions I imagine are rally ones - so probably not ideal if the cars your daily driver.

I have my center diff out now.. its seemed easy enough to get out. But yup its the ideal time to do it.

I was thinking about getting a bit crazy and finding a dccd unit and fitting that as well hehe

Ahh ok, my mistake. There was a factory front mechanical one for $300 on here that I thought you had bought. I imagine the Cusco would be a fair bit better though! Your cars gonna be very very competitive at Port Rd at this rate! Just a shame you dont play on gravel!

( Salisbury) R-160's LSD is what your looking for i quess like the Subaru LSD, Kaaz, Cusco, ATS, and Power Brute units, Viscous Fluid units

breakaway settings usaly around 45 ft-pounds , but clutch disk units wear :P, their breakaway torque setting gradually dies, becoming like open differential so you have to rebuild them again to get the breakaway back up to 45 ft-lbs.

adding extra shim's can get the breakaway up to 180 ft-lbs if your keen ;D NOT recomd for street use ;D acting locked differentials not good for that and creating severe understeer at corner entry :o bl abla bla bal

gone off what i was saying now anywho if you looking at building one or what ever looking in junk yards or what ever look for :

1991-1992 Legacy Turbo AWD Rear VLSD

1992-1997 SVX AWD has the R-180 I THINK!!!!! VLSD

Any Subaru's since 2000 that came with an LSD came with a viscous unit

2000-2001 Impreza 2.5RS

2002-2003 WRX

1985-1986 (production up to 3/86) XT 4WD 3.70 LSD

1986-1987 (production from 4/86-10/86) GL 4WD has the 3.70

1988-1991 GL and XT-6 4WDs has 3.90 LSD

looking under tthe diff gold or silver foil sticker on the outside of the rear case cover stating the Subaru differential part number,

the ratio of the differential and whether or not it is an LSD "LSD" in 1/2 inch-tall block letters on the left side of the foil sticker is what your looking for ... im sure i have said sweet f8uck all about what you realy was wanting to know :D

Have you just listed a bunch of crap for rear diffs in a thread asking about front diffs?

Wikipedia strikes again??

;D hence the last part of my post!!!!!!! :P and the info came from log1call who put me onto a heap of info from bits of manuals and books that he has on a site somewhere , that lead me to looking for more then more, and reading them all to 8) and saving to harddrive so i can touch base later. you should try it wiki man :-*

sorry not all of that came from log1call he just pointed and got me going in the right direction

I'd just rather that people left links to wiki (rather than quoting and therefore indirectly claiming it as their own knowledge) so then this site can be about "actual" knowledge, rather than re-hashed sh1t off the internet that really, if they are too stupid to find it, then I am amazed that they managed to log on to this forum.

And it would also be nice if you answered a front diff thread with information from the right end of the car ;)

I can see talking to you is talking to a brick wall :-\ , the info came from book’s called workshop manuals ??? and popular science ??? and one called Automatic transmissions By John H. White ??? , Mitchell automatic transmissions and transaxles: fundamentals and systems By Mitchell International this one has a list of lsd in some subarus and most the other list i got from yenpit on NASIOC sent me

this list goes on and all have been read or reading now Mitchell Auto mechanics, ATSG Transmission Manuals I mean papers from dudes who have done it guys who give lists of stuff links to wicked articles

1992-1997 SVX AWD manual and loads of other workshop/service manuals,

emails from people who work at junk yards , mechanics, die casting workshops

emails from people from around the world with what they know how **** works what’s what, what they use and how, i email tokyo motor sports if i get really stuck all my stuff comes from the net

, what the hell u use the internet for? Porn and this site only? Get over yourself bro

I just hope you’re not a mechanic you know the ones that are a dying bread because people can leran to be a mechanic online and know more without actually doing the practical work yet!

From what I’ve seen in your post's your arrogant self sintered and Self-righteous so i don’t really give a sh1t what you think say or do... ;D

Punctuation is your friend dude.

Break it up a little and the misunderstanding might not be so bad. Looked like a copy paste job to me also, and you didnt explain yourself to well at all.

Perhaps a personal attack wasnt the best reply you could have mustered there???

Wow Koom lol u really rarked him up haha, um definitely will attest to Kooms skill. ;) U gotta see the cars this guy works on, only guy I let touch my wrx apart from Tony at RDL where he pretty much lives at haha working on all the rally cars and his own track weapon.

And there is more to the internet then porn...... Whats up with that haha, thats all I use it for haha ;D Gotta get my goal of 5 terrabytes of porn after all :P

Anyhow on topic, don't take it personally he is just stating his oppinion to which we are all entitled too. And he has a valid point too, didn't think it was worth 3 replies haha but none the less made my morning much more enjoyable.

No I'm not a real mechanic at all. I have learnt a few things though.

It would also really help your case if you spell checked and punctuated properly. Its pretty easy to lose good information in amongst bad spelling, grammar and messy sentence structure.

To get this back on track, Funkytown, have you heard of www.japanparts.com before? They have a range of diffs from factory to aftermarket.

http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist.php?dealer=1&car=&middlesmall=1%3A19&maker=&volkey=

The diffs also come in front, centre and rear ;) haha

GF8M8.

If you have read through Koom's posts and come to the conclusion that he is Self righteous, self centered and arrogant (?) and not that he is vastly more clued up than you; then you really are mentally stunted.

You have posted up material pertaining to the rear diff not the front diff, instead of realizing this, you proceeded to unveil yourself as tantrum throwing barbie doll.

Why don't you have a read back through the thread. From the beginning. Start with the title.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
