Ever sat in the silly seat in a top level rally car? Its like that but with trees, and ditches, and fences, and 200 foot drops off the side of the road ;D

Only time I've ever been proper scared in a car.

I've done the rally experience at maramarua, and although i've been scared many times in a car (mainly with women drivers behind the wheel) it was the only time i've been so scared and excited that i've gotten out and my knees are actually like jelly. The car control and grip is amazing.

Yeah its always the level of grip that amazes me. Braking, cornering etc its mind boggling how it works on a surface that my car is generally uncontrollable.

The real drifters are similar too. Proper-ish tyres and setups so that they make good grip so then large man parts are necessary to get them sideways.

Guest itsgotgo

would suggest next time you keep your arm in the car to hold on ha ha. :D

Went out to qland raceway to watch these a few years back, the capa drift car was the shizz at the time.

Its like any other form of motorsport "Intense car control" 8)

Some people are just born to do it,some are not lol :)

I remember doing a passenger drive with Joe McAndrew, very much as you described.

160kph on gravel.

Now that would be fun. He'd definately graduate from the Colin McRae school of driving.

I asked to crew what run i should go on, they said go at the end and give him a bit of ribbing, then he'll want to scare you :D

The last part of the course included a jump of about 3-4 feet in the air.

It was the braking that impressed me the most, like a hand of god.

I discovered recently that in the more modern cars i.e. current Group N, that the braking is still pretty impressive but its the lack of braking that scared me. And then the way the car just turns in and sticks. I was sure that we were at least going to run wide (first thought was "hello trees" but have at least learned to suppress that feeling), yet the car just held its line and gripped, everywhere. We entered the corner in 4th and I expected a drop to 3rd (it was first timed run of the day too) but Josh hooked 5th and drove it through.

I know where id pick to serve MY sentence!!!

Id be begging for home D!!

Some of those fuckers in jail are pretty scary. My mate went in one time and he said first time he went to sleep his cellmate tried to beat him up(he was like 18 or 19 at the time) and he had to wake up swiftly in order to deal to the guy lol.

I think if you fail the first physical "examination" you are pretty much screwed for your time there.

Having a ride in Josh's Evo 8 rally car was soo much fun, wasn't terrified as such as I guess from all my experiences of crashing and trust in his experience. Then again there were a few heart flutter moments like when he was gunning it over a burm and I had no clue WTF was on the other side haha. I loved it soooo much hence why it really set me on the path of caging my wrx, I definitely won't be rallying anytime soon. But none the less one day I want to get into it.

Drifting I will admit is hell fun, Im not a fan of watching it. Bores the living crap out of me, but definitely kudos to the guys who can do it. It takes some skill to do.

Im with you on the watching of drifting... boring in my opinion. Besides I prefer racing where there is an undisputed winner, although the drifting purists will argue drifting is no different in this respect. At least with other forms of motorsport there is no "judgment" as to whos the best, its decided by either a clock or a finishing order. Each to their own though.... and any form of motorsport cant be bad can it!

heh yeah the passenger in that pic is not me, (note the aussie jersey!) we alternated runs

rules very lax... no overalls, rollcage optional, no extinguisher, windows down.. all sorts of things we have to deal with here just arn't an issue

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
