That has to be a write off with the cost of fixing that vs the value of the car.

/quote]

Shows how much you know, eh ;D

I'm talking about the situation where the insurance company actually know how much the car is worth.

$2000 to fix a $3000 car is a write off good and proper.

lol $3000 car ::)

Its only a HXS (correct me if im wrong) not exactly high end of the Subi price spectrum.

And considering when I wrote my last WRX off they diddled me down to $6500 (market value apparently) I too am in the surprised there fixing it club.

Why don't you try insuring something that's not an STi every now and again...if anyone was conned, that would be me...they wanted to insure it for MORE because of the mods, which are individually insured too...including that smashed up wing.

Of course...sans parts. The parts on there currently are worth as much as the car (stock) itself. $13,000 is undersold, to be honest, considering what's on there. And what's going in there? Dude - $13k isn't going to be nearly enough. ;)

ANYWAY. My mum always told me, 'if you ain't got nothing nice to say...don't say anything'. She's a wise lady.

Sure but meh thats make the internet so boring and I wouldn't have multiple pages of entertainment to read. Good on ya for trying something different, but sometimes we have to look at cost vs beneftis and to be honest this car has to be one of the most grossly expensive underperforming cars I've seen.

Not having a crack, but this discussion has been going for years and years yet just don't see any massive jumps apart from tons of mentions of the 6-speed and other parts u have aquired over the years which are far far more suited for a person that is trying to build a track car... cough cough like me haha, so in essence I should help give u a hand and help alleviate that 6 speed off ur hands :P

Lol. If I wasn't so attached to the car AND the parts, I'd say...I have a 6MT and Brembos to clear out ;D But as you said it's been years...we gals build some pretty strong bonds with our shyt.

The underperforming is an issue, yes. A page back or so I mentioned that there's not much you can do further with a 2.0 SOHC, and it would be silly to try. However the new motor is meant to be a high-compression EJ22 with quite a bit of STi involvement, so while it won't break any records it should be both swift and reliable (not to mention economical when not being pushed). The emotional benefits outweigh the huge costs IMO, it's why I'm doing it...it's a passion, not just a hobby :)

The reason it's been years since anything's happened...well, I've had some pretty serious financial problems to be honest, and wracking up a huge debt would just make it even worse (since there's already a small debt there, yes yes). Things are a BIT better now, and I'm hell-bent on getting BOTH the cars where I want them at stage 1 this year...that would be conversion on the Impreza, and a running (and black) Legacy.

Not after anyone's patience, I haven't earned it. Just know that I'm still struggling away here in my little corner despite everyone else's scorn ;D And one day I'll have something presentable.

If I get sick of the heavy Brembos and the 6MT...want? :P

the quad cam 2.2 from the early legacy RS (at least i think it was quad cam) packs a reasonable amount more torque than the 2.0 quad cam. well it surprised me at least.

random question, does your hx have a rear sway bar? or did you fit your own

well if you won't listen to reason, why not listen to the stars? they seem to be trying to tell you something.

give it up Loren (and the rest)

Agreed we never change.

I hope they repair it better than when you bought it, good luck with the rebuild.

Thanks you guys. :) (need a hug smiley!)

Kamineko - yeah, those things are definitely a bit more torquey than the ol' 2.0. I'm talking with a number of people about head possibilities, since I seriously doubt the stock heads on any of those old 2.2s will be happy with what I wanna do.

It had an 11mm coathanger on it originally...I replaced with an STi RA one. :)

State are diddling me hence im changing. $2g excess! I pay more for insurance now im 29 than i did when i had a 97 RA when i was 21! No claims or accidents that were my fault.

Pretty stink really and they say my cars only worth 7k. I said a few bad words and youll be hearing from my car dealer. Lol.

yeah they only gave me 2g after the misti hit the motorbike as it had high km's but i only had a $300 excess with state and i'm 26 soon to be 27 and i didn't lose my no claims bonus even though i made a claim?

I think we have the house, 60g contents and two cars and we pay $681 per year which i thought was steep with a $300 excess go figure.

Ouch...$2000 isn't a lot for a car! Guess you kept your no claims bonus if the bikie was at fault and not you...same for me I think, I don't lose anything because I wasn't the one driving badly, lol.

So your insurance is all three...house contents and 2 vehicles? Under $700 is a fairly sweet deal, the Impreza is $1100 a year with a $2k excess!

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
