IAC Valve Problems

Removed and cleaned my IACV and now my car is idling at 2000-2500rpm even when hot. I also removed what I think is the throttle position sensor from the throttle body and put it back on. Would any of this have any effect on my revs?

This is on a V3 STi Engine.

I moved it around abit and it makes the revs go down. but the CEL is still on and it still plays games.

They tend to fill up with dust and some clutch dust depending on your clutch. Take it off and blow some low pressure compressed air into it and try again. If that doesnt work use come contact cleaner. This usually works but if it chuckin faults it may need to be rebuilt or buy a wrecked one. Itll have a number on it, normally on a green sticker, you need a matching one as there are a couple diff ones.

Look at trying this...

Try method one first, then move onto two if it doesn't work.

1) remove the air box which directly connects to the throttle body. Run the car while simultaneously spraying carb cleaner toward the top of the throttle body(10 second spray). You'll need a buddy to keep the car from dying. Let sit for a few minutes. Repeat it a few times then reassemble the intake and let it idle to burn off any extra.

2) On my EJ22 the idle air control controller is located on top of the engine right behind the air box. It has a plug going into it. It's held on by two VERY VERY soft screws. I had to use a thick flathead bit connected to a very small ratchet to turn it. Again, the screws are VERY VERY soft. If you strip them you're screwed.

***when you take it off you'll need to replace the idle air controller gasket. It's like, 2 bucks @ a dealership. ***

I let my IAC sit in carb cleaner for a good hour or so then I cleaned it out with q-tips.

Might be a good idea to reset the ECU afterwards too.

Quoted off an American website.

Pay to check your maf sensor too.

mine i.c.v was fucked when I bought the car, it wouldn't idle properly, and sometimes not at all. but car would drive fine in drive. the dude thought the cars engine was fucking out lol, but I knew what it was, took it home, went to pick-a-part, i.v.c was $16, cleaned it up with carb cleaner, chucked it on, BANG engine ran sweet

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
