HELP!! JUST BROUGHT A 94 GT WAGON AND HAVE 3000 TO SPEND

$3000. Pull the engine, do one huge bloody service on it, single convert it. go home happy and reliable.

Don't touch body kits, they are a waste of money, make you look like a douche, and attract unwanted attention from all corners. I'm with drunken, if you want to spice it up, go after the late model/GTB look. or just get a subtle lip.

I would.. get a boost gauge (if it hasn't got one already), get a ZS sequential controller and/or good boost controller. Then try and find a chipped ECU for it. That'll set you back around $1k and get you some decent upgrades. Then save the remaining $2k for if/when the engine blows up and you can do a single conversion while rebuilding. No point doing a single conversion while the engines still ok..

Don't bother with a bloody body kit, it just makes it MORE of a thief magnet and will make you cry when someone bump parks it at the supermarket.

Service. If the service is done, then sweet. You have Potenzas, sweet. Adjusties... yeah not too bad.

Definitely IMO put the cash away for a rainy day. It's only a matter of time before something pops. Read Reuben's single turbo thread and start saving up for those bits - get really, really used to the car and then when (not if) sh!t happens, you can fix the powerplant without being too much of a risk (huge power in unfamiliar car = early grave).

There's a near identical car in the process of being converted to single turbo, and it has presented many problems. The older ones seem to be a nightmare to convert...and will be a bit pricier as there's more that needs replacing. You can't just biff in an STi ECU and be away laughing...

Yeah, don't go modding right away, tbh. Get used to the car first. And only single convert if twin turbo pisses you off.

94's tend to be more reliable when it comes to major items like big end bearings, but they have a bloody good nack of blowing oil seals, and turbo's.

My advice?

Do anything that NEEDS doing - Oil seals (you'll know if you have leaks either visually, or you'll be able to smell the burnt oil)

After that, i'd look at the turbos - upgrade to VF26/27 combo or single convert.

Invest in good rubber.

Get a factory airbox and mod that if you are running a pod.

If you choose to upgrade to the 26/27, and do the conversion yourself, you'll have cash leftover, single turbo will likely swallow your 3k, but will give you that in your face power you crave.

Personally, unless you have a family to transport, just maintain it and then flick it when you get bored and then get an sti.

+1 on oil seperator plate, and primary turbo. (my bg5a had problems with both)

add on fuel pump too

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
