Subaru Wiki

Recommended Posts

Right, so seeing as everyone's always harping on about not having a way to store community knowledge and so on and so forth, deathz0r and I have taken some initiative and got a wiki going.

If the domain name isn't awesome enough for you I hate you all :P.

If anyone who's interested could have a play around with it, add some information, new pages, register as a user, do different things as both users and anonymous etc blah blah that would be much appreciated.

Instructions are linked to on the main page.

Cheers guys, hopefully this is the start of something great.

PS: If someone with mad graphic design skills *shiftily looks at shale* has some free time and wants to come up with some logo ideas then that would be greatly appreciated.

PPS: We've tried to set it up somewhat as an 'affiliate' site to clubsub, basically to encourage input from other knowledgeable randoms on the internet whilst still advertising the fact that clubsub exists through the wiki mainpage, if anyone was wondering as to the motivation behind that.

Aw man, I didn't know he was going to post on CS about it so soon - I would of got my act together and fixed some stuff first! lol.

@JoKer - not a forum, it's a Wiki, so just pure information

@aim - I'll look into this for ya this afternoon

@chrisjunkie - cPanel had Tiki-Wiki as like a 'preinstalled' option and I couldn't be bothered with MediaWiki lawl :D

Yeah imo we very much want this to be a site affiliated to/maintained by CS.

How are we to address issues such as quality/accuracy of information?

May i suggest technical how-tos section, part numbers section, and possibly a common-part interchangeability table.

The main issue i can see here is the amount of information and arranging it logically, and more importantly, ease of finding said info.

Wikipedia is very general, I assume our wiki will be more for How to's and more technical information such as wiring diagrams, weights, part names/numbers etc...

Bingo

Can you merge the accounts databases? or is that too much to ask? :P So that only forum members can edit etc?

Not per se, but it is entirely possible to only allow certain 'class' of member on the wiki to edit certain information

Also re: Tiki vs. Mediawiki, Tiki appears to have very similar if not identical wiki syntax to Mediawiki so that's not really a problem, plus Tiki has a whoooole lot of added backend functionality that Mediawiki doesn't really have as Mediawiki is just a pure wiki...but if Tiki turns out to be a peice of crap it won't be too hard to migrate the data over so meh

Have you guys checked your spam/junk folders? I signed up a test account last night and it worked fine aside from the email going into my spam box. We can just manually activate the accounts but working out what's wrong with the emailing bit would be more ideal

Edit: 6 clubsub people have signed up and only half of you haven't received the verification email, it looks like. So yeah, check spam folder and get back to us I guess

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
