"The road toll is down and the number of tickets are down as well. At this stage we will assess numbers later today but it seems really great."

Police road policing communications manager Lesley Wallis said though police were pleased with the results, there were no moves yet to make the policy permanent.

all good :)

I wonder if these police commentators have ever heard of "cause and effect"

Just because most criminals smoke, doesn't mean we should lock up every smoker to eliminate crime. Just like dropping the speed threshold 6 kph has no causal link to a drop in road toll.

None of the 10 road deaths last year were caused by people obeying every road rule, other than doing 110 kph. They were all either speeding excessively (1 was doing 160+ kph), drunk, a combination of the 2 or operating their vehicle dangerously. How is pinging mr and mrs smith for 109 kph going to stop that?

It would be interesting to submit an official information act request for the dollar value of infringement notices issued during the 2009 and 2010 queens birthday periods though. I bet there was a dramatic increase.

Blatant profiteering.

Lowest road toll in 50 years

Wow when you actually target the f*cktards behind the wheel you must have an effect on something...

Anyway here is the story (partially unrelated to my comment...)

http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/3784232/Record-low-Queens-Birthday-road-toll

You know why it was so low?

Shit weather so hardly any one could/wanted to go any were

If they did the same thing next year it wouldnt have the same affect

We went on the cruse to timaru and saw 1 cop the whole way there and back.....

It was a hollow threat from the police ::) ::)

I agree with that. I couldnt be bothered going any where because of the weather so I just stayed at home or went to my GF place.

This year's low death toll was pleasing but not surprising, as reducing speed was an important part of reducing death and injury on the roads, road policing national manager, Superintendent Paula Rose, said.

Police lower road toll = fail

Road toll falls as most people stay at home or are working = win.

Good work, but yeah... most criminals are males, so if we eliminate males, we reduce the crime rate.

Not that I'd mind ;D

But yeah - I stayed home, most people did. The weather was atrocious, so most would have been sensible with the added threat of mad crack-down action.

The motorway moved at 95km/h instead of 110km/h like it usually does...it felt odd, but not hugely unpleasant. Didn't go far...just random cruising/commuting.

I'm HOPING it's just the MEDIA jumping to clearly retarded assumptions. It usually is.

^^ NYCE!!! ^^

The only thing in my opinion that helped reduce the road toll from this weekend was the fact that there was more officers on patrol.

The concept that dropping it to a 5km/hr tolerance helped the road toll is a load of bollocks!!

but it made people slow down and think about it. so maybe it helped. if having more cops out with a media-fueled PR campaign about more cops and stricter standards didn't help AT ALL i would be surprised.

and I saw 4 cops between riccarton and christchurch cbd (5-10 minute drive) one night last weekend. all with people pulled over.

That is a good effort, no doubt. But I wonder how many assaults, burglaries or other emergencies where people needed assistance waited longer than they needed to, to ticket someone for 56 in a 50.

Personally I think they should "stick to knitting" and make Christchurch safe again.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
