AND THEN AFTER I VACUUMED IT

HOPEFULLY IL GET ANOTHER 50,000 KMS OUT OF IT YET.........NOT!!

yeah, my old panel filter and a birds leg and wing stuck in it once. it was fucking rancid. so i threw the whole airbox out and made my own

On my old 1994 galant I had the air filter in a alloy box/scoop set up just up the lip of my front bumper

hit a rabbit one night and the car ran like crap after

parked it up as it had no reg or wof

about 3 weeks later a mate offered to buy off me

we found the rabbit..... :-X

threw the whole pod filter/scoop/box out

Haven't had time to check mine, but hopefully the stock airfilter is clean enough to replace the mushroom filter on the rex. Feeling the burn in the pocket already!

Years ago Autospeed magazine found that a clean filter made no difference to the airflow over a dirty filter.

Read similar test in High Performance Imports where they even took filter out completely which netted them a huge 0.4kw gain. They determined the problem was actually the design of intake tract in general.

poddys are SUPPOSED to improve airflow, generally at the expense of filtration. And according to the article above, they don't even do that.

iv been told that k&n's and similar style filters reck your afm.. gets covered in oil and burns out.. i use a hks replacment filter and it made a small improvment
