Dunno about subies, but i had a pretty quick NA 300zx

What i did:

Pod Filter

Lightened Alumnium Pulley's including under-drive pulley,

Lightened Fly Wheel

Extractors

Removed Cat, add straight pipe with 2 1/2inch cat back

Removed AFM mesh (Z's had this) although was a bit controversial when i did it...

Chipped ECU

My Z was a slicktop which is a 2seater version of the 300ZX with a hard top, didn't like the targa's.. after these mods i could keep up with a stock auto TT no problems...

You may be able to do something with your cams, like getting them reground... Pukekoe Cam Specialists are good... but you won't get much change out of $1500 and thats doing it yourself...

Other things to do are all about weight... get an alloy or carbon fibre bonnet..

Also, after market mags like 18's usually will slow your car down due to the shear weight of them, stick to stock..

I don't want to make a race car. Just liven up the response a little.

I've done a 1000km now and it seems to be learning me quite well (or vice versa) and now I don't have to chop gears on hte hills as often and it seems to have more pickup.

A 2004 rs is the next one in 2 years. So I'll just stick out the sluggishness and enjoy the foz on the weekends

Nitrous, I s*** you not. Im secretly planning it.

Easiest way to get more HP out of a non turbo.

If you must - slam some reground cams in it, adjustable cam pulleys, oversized valves and springs and overclock the ECU. Then fit an underdrive pulley set to it and a lightened flywheel.

and it will still be slower than the equivalent turbo model?

The EZ30R models can show up quite a few of the turbo'ed ones. Even when Clint had his EZ30R in his GTB it wasn't a slow vehicle by any means.

Lol these threads are funny what should i do to get more power in my N/A,

Answer 1 SPEND WAY TOO MUCH MONEY AND GET VERY LITTLE GAIN

Answer 2 Sell the car and buy the turbo you want or a big V6 or V8

Good luck on this but Leggys are heavy as, your better off keeping the economy of the N/A rather than eating through a bucket load of money then spending more keeping the thirsty (petrol wise) monster it will become going. IF you do want to do anything see what you can do to lighten the car, notice how different the car is to drive with extra people in the car. Drop some weight from the car and you will get more performance gain than doing most of what has been stated before.

Oh and give the car a good service, new filters, fluids, upper engine cleaner etc

Quicker than a stock 205kw GTB? for the amount of money and effort its just not worth it.

I'd say that it was quicker than my GTB thats got an STI single turbo setup in it and that was back before he had the "VTEC" set correctly. I was thinking more along the lines of Keltik's wagon that came from the factory with the 3.0L engine aswell. You buy it, jump in and drive it like a madman ;D And they use half as much gas when cruising on the open road.

Good fricken god, I knew males had their ears painted on, but their eyes too?!

:o :o ::)

A few of you need to go back to the original post and LURK MOAR. If he wanted a turbo, LIKE THE ONE HE ALREADY HAS, he would have bought one. Good fricken god. I don't see what's so mind-blowingly difficult to understand about that.

There's a difference between making an N/A go a bit quicker and making an N/A as fast as a turbo. Arguably between $5000-$15000, depending on how badly you need a straightjacket.

A better filter, freer intake, less restrictive exhaust and decent fuel wake an N/A the hell up - as does a snorkelectomy in the earlier ones. We're obviously not talking 30hp and a heave against the belly like a turbo, we're talking a bit more satisfaction in taking hills in something that costs far less to run.

Good god, if he wanted to commute in a turbo, wouldn't he run the Forester? ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

In all honesty, my wagon is not as fast as a twin turbo. It is a slow sack of shit. But its driven by an utter madman and raped to within an inch of its life. That just makes it look a bit quicker.

Does having a number plate on each side of the front bumper give you 20kw?

less is more, 2 plates give 5kw

no plates however...

I have mine on the left hand side, as it counters the weight distribution on the right hand side due to me driving it.

Eyes are peeled for GTB cat back. Not sure if I'm gonna bother with snorkelectomy, the legacy's have a kind of scoop on the grill and the wheel arch is kind of sealed, so i doubt the bend removal is worth the intake sitting in the guard.

Plug/filter/fluids due this weekend, But i'm quite happy that chopping gears like a nutter I'm getting 8.2l/100km compared to the foz's record of 9.3 on open highway and average of 9.8.

And I've said it before. Legacies are sooo friggin comfy, Far nicer than my old mans is250

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
