heard of many cars stolen even though parked in by other cars.

guy i worked with had his parked in and he lived down a long driveway, the two cars in front had there hand brakes cut and were towed out the way by a long whinch cable from the tow truck that was half way up the drive so you couldnt hear it.

then they had put an extra remote on his alarm, silently disarmed it, rolled it foreward and towed it up onto the truck.

turns out it was the mechanics that he had taken his car. :(

if they want it, its gone lol

mechanics are the best theives cause we know the most about cars technicly and we can get keys cut or new car alarm switches coaded while your car is in with us getting serviced etc etc etc......dont take to dodgy looking mechanics(well how do you spot one anyway?) older is better, really old is a gift and hairy's or aprentices are the worst

so you also have a dog to throw a steak at to keep busy and a r34 skyline... nice

(it does pay to be a tad paranoid sometimes with what you post on the public interweb)

but yes I can also appreciate the simple measures that do make your treasure slightly more secure than most

1. Soak steak in something nasty, antifreeze maybe?

2. Throw at dog

3. Come back in 20 minutes

And yeah, the old cut the handbrake and roll them out the way technique is not exactly new.

Pro-tip: When taking your car to any service type place, give them your spare alarm fob. Most alarms will only allow 2 fobs to be coded to them, and they drop the one that hasn't connected in the longest time. So if you come back to pick your car up and your usual fob doesn't work any more you know they've probably coded another one to it... so take all your wheel-nuts off when you get home that night :)\

But yeah, for all the elaborate schemes people have, if some scum wants it they'll take it.

I reckon about the safest you'll get in a practical manner is a locked, alarmed garage with your car locked and alarmed inside.

If you're super super paranoid, switch off the breaker to your garage door opener and put a bolt through the manual door release thing. Even if it won't stop them completely, it'll slow them down enough that hopefully they won't bother.

If some bastard really, really wants it, they'll take it. The key is to make it SO hard for them that they don't want it that much any more.

Youre definately right about the wear on the IACV pipe, where it goes over the thottle cable linkage, got the same pattern of brightness on both pictures.

It sucks to be whoever has it if we can find the buyer.... but damnit, i want to see justice and dave get all his stuff back.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
