anyone know where i can get the mesh that covers the 4" turbo's comp housing thats in some of the pics above?

I got mine from the warehouse, stainless steel strainer about 8$. But now I just use a 15$ pod filter from trade me as I only lost 1-2hp on the dyno with it on.

hehehe strainer sounds good,pod wont fit my situation due to my a/m top feed fuel rails plus fittings and tall bosch 750cc injectors ,the turbo couldnt go anywhere else due to the plenum, but thats ok its not an everyday driver ill live with the meshing ;D

man oh man. so many matte black cars with fibreglass bits that look like absolute shit.

subaru = gay at 4 n r. probably only one car that i even remember, and that was a black widebody wrx. everything else looked like standard cars i see driving down the road every day. overwhelmingly underwhelming.

RS KIKN was perfectly straight...had the cleanest shiney paint job...and the engine...WOWZER.......

+ the engine sitting on the ground is the one that sits in STA parts...it has a low mounted (standard position) TD06...i never knew u could fit a td06 to the standard spot???

can a td06 like this bolt straight on? 20g im guessing

the RS had huge twisted turbo with link and big fuel rails and all...WAS MY favorite car there anyway sure was mint..

there was heaps of top notch other cars rather than subys..HKS EVO etc

my pic out of them all was the first picture of the white early model sti sedan, just cause thats the model i will get for when my engine goes in somthing else,the rest were very boring indeed (in my opinion), i just love bold white ;D

yeah but so do a million other subarus. what's special about it. nothing. the car i drove to the show in was nicer and had those same mods...

yeah there were plenty of mean cars there in other brands that's true. but that's my point. subaru was about as impressive as all the lowered hondas on wide rims. who really cares.

well that explains it all then! All the car do-er-uppers who have the big money choose to spend it on other makes. Dont blame them really, subaru for me was my hardest and most time consuming of all my builds over the last 21yrs and when i was mechanicing they were always hated by me and the forman to work on,them and fords sucked, but here i am 20yrs later doing one up...MAD I TELL YA!! but im pleased with how its going

Kind of like the muppets who lean on the wall at trackdays giving 3 million reasons why they couldn't enter but they would definitely smoke anyone out there.

...but just a question about these shows, do you choose what to show? like keep the bonnet shut and just show the exterior? or open the bonnet if you want to show both? or do the judges have to see it all like interior,under bonnet and exterior ?....or is it just a show with no judges? Some info on this please as im inexperienced :-[

There are judges, they tell you what they judge when you enter, but its pretty much everything. And you can win trophes

are there different catagories? like best panel and paint? and best interior? and best engine bay? or is it just the car as a whole that gets judged?

yep different categories, my mate shipped his car north for this and won best original paint and best rotor (or something like that)
