this is a pretty crack up topic but anyway i reckon people needa stop all the hate...

but all in all if u think the car shows are shit and cars are shit etc like some people are saying then just keep that sorta crap to yourselfs

It's a two way street, and I'll repeat myself. 'Hate' and 'Haters' is an extremely poor fallback - you have nothing else to defend yourself with. If you do, please use that instead.

Furthermore, the point is that people don't see why they should pay to see a bunch of somewhat modified DDs when you can go to St Lukes and see the same. There's a reason my cars aren't at any of the shows despite being modifed, and that's because there is NOTHING innovative or interesting about them yet.

People will respond to what's put out there.

i for one got some hefty ideas from the show and am hoping to get my car upto show standard by next years event and if the sub stance stand is still rocking it next year id be keen to sit my wagon by ur guys if i get it how i want it to be by then

While I agree most of the cars shown dont really do it for me either, still a good effort for those involve to enter a stand and pull it off... can only get better.

Think its just sign of the times with car shows. Look back at the early to mid 2000's when Loans were easy to get, there was always a "show car" on every corner. Now the standard has dropped to were a few cheap trademe parts counts as a "show car" nowdays. The people that use to do the big money builds are long gone, or build really stupid cars full of gangsta bling and camo paint.

All of the major builders in a old club i use to belong (NiZan) have long left NZ or are rolling in M6 BMW's or are spending that money on their houses or boats.

Car shows are pretty much the same year in year out, same old cars, different shades, different shiny bits but same old, always will be but thats what the kids like - shiny bits Same cars dont even work for what they been built and modified to do : Pretty sure ukgirls car didnt even work one year or maybe more and still gets awards - its really about boostin your own ego, so dont need to do that, they know they are great :D

i think you're missing the point (and infact the first bit of what you said is EXACTLY my point.)

i don't think any one has called any car a "POS" or anything remotely similar, be it yours or any one else's

simply put. every subaru at the show was a daily driver that you will see driving down your street daily. not very exciting.

i didn't see

- any interesting paint jobs (and i don't mean a tacky fluro green respray)

- any custom body modifications

- unique bodykits

- custom sounds installs

- interesting motor setups
