what is this motor?

With those cam covers I'd guess V2 STI RA (I'm not sure if the normal V2 STI had shim under buckets or if it was just the RA)

I've got a very similar set of heads sitting in the garage that I was told were from a V2 STI RA. They have ~30mm diameter buckets rather than ~33mm that the V3/4/GTB heads have. (Measurements from memory but they're definately smaller than the 96+ ones).

Changed my mind. Likely to find Hydraulic lifters if you take the cams out as that there shows a return line for a TT system that would be blank on a single turbo.

Yeah I got stuck on it being a single turbo with shim under buckets for some reason (only ever dealt with one set of early WRX/TT heads that had the hydraulic lifters under the buckets, only really expect to see hydraulics with rockers like a BC5) so then I'd missed the obvious.

Also is that missing piece on the bellhousing bit cut out? Why's there a big hole where the inspection hole normally is?

Obviosly a Phase 1 block, TT heads and has early RS cam and crank sensors

And like it was coverted to single turbo in a "chop shop"

Broken block at inspection point - never seen this, but I suppose roughness has no boundaries :)

RC 's and gaskets indicated a EJ20H engine - with hydraulic lifters

thanks rick / koom. I had suspected this was a TT due to the water lines on the back of the heads but i didnt want to lead you to what i thought was the answer.

Clearly it is NOT and got deathz0r sent a total bag of s*** ej20h... remember the matching STI loom and manifold that never turned up? Coz it never existed

I did a quick inspection of it today, we went and got it from storage.

I vote liquid_ice

a) gets severe beats

b)fronts the full $1500 for s*** he never sent / lied / cheated

OLD post below...

 

Well, bumping up old thread because I haven't had a word back in a couple of days and it's starting to worry me.

Update on events thus far;

-Complete block was sent and a box full of parts

-I only received a pallet with the block.. no box of everything else (ecu, manifold, afm etc etc)

-Liquid_ice contacted Mainfrieght and they didn't help, ClubSub_Dad checked out the Wellington branch for me - nothing there

-Ticketing slip only says 1 pallet was sent, no mention of box

-Couple weeks go by with PMing, he has been sick so no progress

-Liquid_ice apparently has hired a lawyer and date confirmed for court hearing for losses of up to $1,000 for 1st September

-I have PM'd asking for $500 cash for the lost parts as I am very tight on cash and he can take the rest of the money when it goes to court

-No responses after that PM (and he always replies)

Updates;

-Said he sent $500, never received.

-After a lot of bitching he finally sent me $250 and I said fuck it and just accepted that

Now.... this.

What to do, what to do.

If you are wondering why I haven't checked the motor before

1) I haven't had room for it so it has been stored out at my old mans since the NIGHT it was received

2) Have just moved in to a new flat with a proper double garage so thought we'd go pick it up and start getting it ready to drop it in...

Def twin turbo open decker hyd lifter early heads.

Have seen this bit cut out.. Apparently allows easier access to torque converter bolts with a cheap spanner...snap on, stahwille etc have no prob here...or a hex socket A??

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers. 
       
      Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.
