internal gate :'(

Recommended Posts

anyway, i have been seeing how ppl have such delishious boost curves and my gate just cannot hold boost past 4900..

have tried adjusting the stock solenoid map

have tried few taps like gfb and ball and spring and TM special lol

and also electronic boost controller as well

seems the internal spring has just lost its flex (as few members have pointed out)

anyway...

how tough is it to swap the internal gate with another

wud a td04 have bolt onto the vf turbo?

is there anyway i can change the internal gate actuater spring only?

what are ur thoughts on helper springs?

all thoughts/theories/proposals welcome

just wana get some ideas really and then decide on the best route

(wana get things better on internal before have to give up and external it)

i have seen a fair few internal gates graphs posted on here and all look sooo much better than my falling curve

BTW - the internal gate rod that connects to the gate - it puushes outward from the actuater ay???

ahhh.. good good

will ask lol i didnt know they did..thnx bro..

thats one option..

i have access to a known good actuater - think its off a vfxx something lol.. wana see how difficult that is to swap - save be buying a new one (worst case will do)

easy as to swap to a good one, that will be enough Im sure. Undo the bolts and remove the circlip on the other end. Just reverse all that to put the new one on. Might be easier with the turbo off but Im sure you can do it on the engine.

I have a spare if you cant get a good one.

Is your vacuum setup right? Even if the spring is a bit sad, as long as the vacuum from the pre-turbo intake is plumbed to the actuator with no leaks etc it should be sucking it shut fairly effectively.

new vac lines bro so no leaks at all

think the spring is so weak that the exhaust gasses just push it open

i have gotten a tinge of green lately

simply cos of all the envy i have for nicer boost curves ppl post up and i look in shame at my sad curve hahaha

hopefully will get that sorted soon lol

im kinda having the same problm.my internal can push past 15-16psi without tappering off.i used 3 diffrent manual boost controllers and so far none have aloowed me to push more than 16psi.when i run on stock soleniod i get spike to about 19 psi and as the revs go up the boost goes down,

iv yet to try a ebc on my car.or go external and have no issuse at all.

i wana try a good ebc before i get rid of the internal.im prty much looking at a evc4 so il try that if its not working il swap it out and go gate:)

duno man.probly around 18pound.the spring that in the actuater is only 7 psi. so the max boost you can go is about 15psi max on that lil fragile spring lol

i beg to differ, i managed to run 21psi on a 7psi td05 actuator for 3 months

really?im just doing it off the science off springs, the can usually double in psi if not a lil more.

if you guys want to really know what's going on, put a fitting in your up pipe and measure the pre turbo exhaust pressure (EGBP). It will tell you everything you need to know

get a sump plug or whatever will thread into an o2 sensor port, weld about 40cm of steel brake line, then run a vac hose from the other end of the line to a MAP sensor. then log the pressure against intake manifold pressure

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
