switch on the accelerator ?_?

Few days ago I felt being a kid again so I sat in my car and pretended to race.

as I put my foot down the acclerator i heard a click and I took a look.

Hmm it seems that there is a switch on there that clicks when the accelerator is about half way down.

I've tracked the wirings and it goes to the inlet manifold and finishes at the ECU.

Went to work and had the guys at winger take a look and they weren't too sure either on what it could be.

Last resort was to try here.. :P anyone might wanna take a guess ?

I was guessing a little that it could be a limit to throttle.

My rs is actually boosting rather very low than other rs's. was checked at work to make sure no vacc leaks etc.

0.5 primary 0.7-8 secondary

heres some more pics of the switch in different angles. Can't take pics of it going to the manifold as i would have to take a sh*t load off to get to it

Maybe its like with a twin barrel carb, as it goes to the inlet, when you open up the throttle past a certain point it opens both of them, something like that, but there's only one air inlet, so not quite like that, probably a similar mechanism, only electrical. Only thing I could think of that would be accelerator controlled, well smart to be accellerator controlled.

years ago on my SUbaru Leone i wired in a switch on the accelerator that cut the aircon out when the accelerator was pressed 3/4 down, in order to give more passing power etc for the 1800cc beast LOL, all in the name of not having to turn the aircon off manually to get maw power

Worked well & Bloody handy when passing cars etc, prolly gave another it another 15 HP lol

its unlikely but to test if your switch is not doing this "aircon cut out" > turn key on engine off > turn on air con > press accerator hard down > listen for loud click at aircon pump under bonet as its turned off and on when pressing accelerator (or try this again when engine running)

It seems like the most logical thing that would be there.

but then again, logic doesn't always find itself into car mods.

Hmmmm so I tried disconnecting the wires and it felt like that my primary turbo spools really late.

Usually with the switch it spools up around 2K rpm's but with the switch disconnected boost gauge started to go up at 3K's . Not too sure just my feeling.

Will have to clear a day on my calender and track to the ecu and see what it could be

thanks for all the replies!

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
