Wat is a safe boost level for my sti v6

I have a stock sti v6 and was wondering with a boost controller what is a safe level of boost to turn it up 2

I wouldnt bother till you get a tuneable ecu or tune what you have. People have ran them at 18spi though iirc. Stock is 16psi?

You can run 22psi you just need a pod.

V6 STi runs 1 bar factory (14.7PSI)

I have a EBC with two settings, 14PSI or 18PSI. Wouldn't recommend going any higher without supporting mods!

i always thort the 5 and 6s run 16-18psi, both mine have been 1.2bar 1 modid and my 5 is stock motor,airbox etc no aftermarket boost controller etc

My V5 Sti Type R stock except for a japanese cat back exhaust was running 17psi, went up to 18psi when I put a decatted downpipe on it

mine is stock 16psi im looking at a tune and removing cat? funds atm are low! does anyone know anyone who has a center dash console for my sti i have cracked the lid and its annoying looking at it every day.

instead of upping the psi for little or no gains id focus on hadling mods

WRC developments in napier are the only ones who can tune your stock ecu otherwise you need to go standalone possumlink/g4 equivalent.

You have a 6sp box in this correct?

a Rage (autobend) 2.5 inch down pipe is a great upgrade, very nice fit and direct bolt on. most exhaust places can supply and fit.

If you can get trade discount you should be able to get one for under $250 from memory, cash in your old catted downpipe and you should get about $80 back.

If I had my time again I'd just leave everything else stock, a good electronic boost controller can make a good difference if set up correctly, you dont have to crank up the boost, but it may help it hold good boost till redline

I have a carbon one with a moulded hole for a 2 5/8" gauge from a V4 lying around somewhere, did they have the same lid?

Back on topic, My V3 STi seems pretty happy on 18, using stock boost solenoid and a 0.9mm mig welding tip lol just has a pod and a turbo-back exhaust. Drops off to 15 at high revs in 3rd gear onwards though so in a few weeks I'll be in the market for a decent EBC

Dyno tested mine stock was 15.2psi. Spikes to 17psi now with turbo back exhaust.

Correct. Factory setting for v6 sti is 1.2bar.

Mine runs this on factory airbox with 3 inch exhaust and no other mods. Holds very firm.

Sweet as I have borrowed a mbc off a mate to see what it's like with no mods goes well on 18psi no problems I think a tune and free up some exhaust it'll be sweet I did here somewhere they can go up to 20/ 21psi but I'm not gonna push it yet . I don't think the center dash is the same as v4 had no clock or gauges just a lid ???

I wouldnt be pushing more than 18 odd psi. Only a lil turb and your performance vs longevity of the turbo wouldnt warrant it i dont reckon.

Each to their own but im getting old!
