Mag Wheels

Recommended Posts

Hi guys.

Looking at buying a new set of mags for my V7 STi.

Can you please provide some constructive criticism about the following mags i.e. weight, manufacturer reliability etc...

Rota Grid

Wolf S36

Work XD9 (unlikely as bloody expensive)

Out of those three, I like the Wolf\'s the most. I can\'t comment on the reliability on any of them and I have no knowledge on wheels other than size.

As nice as Rota Grid\'s are, they\'re just too common now. Go for a unique look that stands out from the crowd. If you can afford/want to.

actually looking at the Rota RT5\'s.

they were only released 2 months ago.

sure the only difference is 1 less spoke than rota grids, buts its still a difference haha.

and they are reasonably priced

with the upmost respect, with the above list your comparing shit with shit and works

xd9 can be had for only $2500 now days, Rota and wolf are the biggest rip offs I have ever seen, 2 years ago the same wheels were 599 and people were all ew wide wheels ew

Get what ever YOU want, but its what sets you from the others. id rather save for 2 years then roll crap

yeah ill be buying another car in 2 years. lol.

and as i must repeat, im not looking for what people think looks best etc. im after some actual factual basis for picking one over the other if any exist.

i.e. around quality, weight, experience with said mags etc.

have heard a LOT of horror stories with rota wheels... all good for daily driving, 5 minutes on track, or hard cornering and they fall apart (or so it seems)

i\'d go for genuine work wheels.... BIG name brands, enkei, etc they have a massive reputation for a reason ;)

nope 10" is max. but plenty isn\'t it?

was going to get some karlton flares so need more then 10 .... may not now as finding wide wheels are hard to find in 5/100.

may need to change hubs

id never support a company who rip of other brands, kinda says it all for there work ethics and quality.

fake prada bags aren\'t allowed to be sold here, why are these. Same sort of thing IMO

not saying work / enkei etc dont make brilliant quality rims, but i dont think they can claim original inspiration for a lot of their styles either.

there are only so many variants of mesh / spokes etc after all

if the cost is not a factor then you cant go wrong with the works. IMHO tho rota make good wheels for the dollar. apparently they make alot of OE rims too.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
