are v7 sti intercoolers bigger than the v7 wrx one's?

Recommended Posts

Yes, and they will bolt straight on as the mount is universal. Get the STi diffuser and y pipe as well, the std WRX y pipe is horrible and the diffusers are quite different

Getting the gearbox dipstick in and out afterwards is a bit of a bitch though (small price to pay and you shouldn\'t need to that often anyway)

Heres what it will look like

Google for the exact but it\'s basically about 25% bigger in all three dimensions sti vs wrx, and is literally double the volume and weight of the v5/6/b4 cooler. weight is good as sort of = heat sink ability

It can fit in your b4 - just (you have a b4 right?)

And it\'s semi kinda sorta useless without a bigger splitter to suit, _but_ probably flows better than early ones and is thicker so for the $$ is worth the upgrade

The stocko wrx one is not really any improvement over the v5/6/b4 cooler, I think it\'s a touch wider but that\'s it

Not fabrication as such, apart from making the brackets fit

Little bit of cursing though

Needs a v7 offset clutch master to fit right, and the bov points the opposite way to where it needs to go on a tt. I actually did a how-to on it somewhere... It\'s somewhere on here anyway

Pipes just any generic 45 and 90 deg hose - trademe / sta / japrace whatevs

I\'d say it was worth the trouble but it still heat soaks like a mofo in traffic, save your pennies and go single turbo and / or fmic and skip the stopgap measure

i\'m thinking single turbo is the way forward now tbh!

And now you\'ll come to the usual realisation that you\'re better off buying a STI motor and swapping that in.

Or at the very least a WRX one.

Usually ends up cheaper and less hassle than mongreling a TT to T

And then you\'ll realise that you may as well just sell it and buy an RS that\'s already single turb.

Or an Impreza.

Just saying, it\'s what usually seems to happen :)

To be fair there\'s not much mongreling involved

It\'s more just not a job I\'d pay someone to do... It\'s as Lego a swap as swapping Nissan motors around

... Assuming all the correct parts are acquired first and you\'re not an electrical wiring n00b with a test light and a lot of optimism

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
