Air filter options

So I gave up on stock location silliness and went twisted.

Turbo has a 4" intake and 4" intake pipe. Suggestions for a filter? I don\'t want to pay $100 for a big K&N cone filter if I\'m just paying for the branding on the box.

Simota do 4" options, and reasonably priced too - around $65ish + GST retail.

If you are using the stock airflow sensor then I would recommend something that is not oiled, I believe that would mean an apexi or zerosports unit.

Why not oiled you say? because the stock air flow sensor in most subies can be thrown into a panic with even tiny little amounts of oil that can come off the air filter.

I believe HKS also sells an oil free air filter too but not 100% on that. If it was me I would go Zerosports as they are known to make super high quality stuff and they focus almost entirely on subarus

yeah i could buy a proper airfilter from a company that specialises in fiters and has done for many a year . or i can save 20% and buy a generic pos from a company that makes generic pos .

I like the nice bellmouth for the intake. I was thinking about one of these but I had a 6" K&N and found that Blox make a 4" to 6" bellmouth adapter which worked out perfectly for me.

Simota here. SAAS comes out of the same factory fwiw. Standard length/width rather than mastiff length.

I have seen/heard a duck caller taped onto one...not impressive well thats what I told him anyway.
