ESCC Inter-club grass Autocross

Thought I'd share this awesome autocross that's on this weekend, in case anybody hasn't seen it and may want to come.

 

$25 per person or $15 for under 18.

Road tyres only

ooohhhhh you have my attention, I saw one of the Otago ones was just a open field and did individual runs against the clock, looked like a great way to learn car control and having a bit of safe fun. 

 

Is this one of those or this a more rallycross event racing with others on the grass at the same time ?

Pretty much the exact same as the Otago ones, one open track on the grass, and 2 cars on at a time, but the second one isn't released until the first is half way through the track, so you never see each other.

 

Great fun, and yeah perfect for learning car control.

Have thrown it into the calendar.

May add a few more later on, mostly Hill climbs announced at the moment, but should be a fair few Autocrosses this summer

Yeah I love getting people into this, it's so much fun, and I've found it stops people fooling around on open roads a bit which is always good

Im looking forward to getting into some of these types of events over the summer too. As you said good way to have fun with a car legally and learn some new skills

Thanks man, thats exactly what I was hoping to see. Once the outback/Legacy shopping is done I might very well come and play with it. Bit of a drive but man I'm keen ! ! Hopefully can convoy with some other members

I saw this as I was driving past on Sunday heading out jet boating. Looked like a good turn out. Reminded me of my grass karting days.

Yeah there were 57 cars I believe in the end.

I placed around mid-pack so I'm happy with that.

I don't think I did too badly for my first time and considering I did it in my daily driver
