So while wrecking this BG twin turbo I had a brilliant idea. Turn it into a drag car, all while selling off non-required parts.

I figure anything that doesn't help going fast in a straight line can be sold off.

First I pulled the doors off. They're pretty heavy and I reckon I could get good money for those complete.

With the doors off it looked a bit weird with the front guards still on, so I pulled them off too.

Bumpers were next, along with the headlights & tail lights. Won't need those on the dragstrip.

I figured a lot of air would now come through the car so the tailgate had to go. A/C would be no use so it goes too.

It doesn't need carpet, passengers seat, rear seat, seatbelts etc, so they're all gone.

Unfortunately the windscreen is marked, and no-one will buy it. I guess as a bonus it will keep the bugs from splatting on me.

Now for the wheels. I looked at the standard alloys, then the space saver, and realised the space saver shape is much more aerodynamic, which will help with both acceleration and top speed. There are 4 of those now fitted.

While I had the car on stands, I found a few more weighty items that weren't a necessity for straight lining. Suspension springs (drag strips are flat), hydraulic brakes (cast calipers are heavy as, and I've still got the hand brake), and sway bars & links (straight line, no corners) can all go.

It doesn't need a dash or speedo either. The track timer will tell me how fast I was!!

I figure there's no need for a P/S pump or hoses, again all straight line racing. Gone.

Seeing as each run will be over and done within 10 secs max, I'm contemplating losing the radiator too. Coolant is really heavy!! The alternator can probably go too then.

So with all those heavy unnecessary parts gone, how quick do you reckon it will be?

Technically you dont need to steer that much in a drag race, so what you should do it get rid of the steering wheel, and steering rack. Install a brake biased switch in a handy, easy to get to location, linked to your front left and front right wheels. That way steering can be done via skid steer using brake pedal and biased valve. You will save a good few kgs there...

seeing as a drag race is to go as fast as you can.... get rid of the pedal and the throttle cable and just weld the throttle in the wide open position....

Or better yet take the throttle butterfly out, even more weight gone then

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
