Looks cool indeed...very pretty car ;D

Pic is a bit dark though, it would fade into the background a bit...also a pain to clearcut as the bottom half of it is almost solid black.

At the moment I'm gonna look at organising an AKL/CNI meet somewhere after a cruise, get a tonne of cars together in some way...and from there, other cities can do the same for a revolving banner :)

The design I'm workin on so far...I'm not fond. Might scrap it and try again, lol.

sweet as i shall try and find the original! think ive still got it on my pc somehwere...

Just as a reiteration, I'm not going to use individual car pics now.

There are going to be colour, angle and resolution issues that'll take days to match up to a photoshoot or three, that'll take people and the photographers half a day to do and just send me the files.

IMO it'll be more fun for people to turn up to photoshoots in their respective areas, have a laugh with friends, have a BBQ maybe, spend an hour taking some schmancy photos, and party on the rest of the day in proper CS style :)

the problem i see with this is that collectively:

a) are the cars good enough for a club banner?

b)space constraints....they will appear matchbox toys if you want them all to appear.

I guess some fancy scrolling banner could rectify b) but I'd argue for some of the elite cars in the club rather than a whole lot of cars.

If we want to look at motorsport affiliation perhaps our cars on the banner should be more towards that area?

If we have a bunch of ricer, boyracer cars on the front banner what sort of message is that sending about who we are?

Im not pointing the finger at anyone here btw.

Fair points, but this club isn't specifically about the nicest Subarus that the company has to offer. That's the job of the NZ STi club. It's a general club for general Subaru owners.

A display of as many people as possible, say 20 cars per banner rotation, gives the most honest description. Yes, there are some ricers and gangstas and wiggas amongst us. Yes, there are some mind-blowing race cars, some stockers, some restos, and one or two wankers with dressed up grocery carts ;) Everyone as much a part of ClubSUB so long as they contribute, whether that's through mechanical help, social offerings, paid membership, etc...

There are ways and means of not making cars appear as matchbox cars at low resolution; it's down to photographic skill.

I'm working on a mock banner at the moment, but it's a very loose idea of what's possible, not a representation of what's going to happen. Some of the cars are teeny weeny, and none will appear as they do in this banner as they'll be part of a whole photo. You can see my issue with 34957395 separate shots in this...they're on different angles elevation-wise, and the colours all poop themselves.

Need far better photos of course. These are a mock-up.

Yeah i do agree with your points.

However, i think you should take a club-president directive as to what direction the club is aiming in rather than letting your creative juices flow wildly in the direction you choose.

Ultimately that will stop petty arguing here so perhaps that could be on the agenda for next phone hook up meeting????

Again id like to re-iterate how crucial the banner is for prospective new members. You give the wrong impression, you get the wrong people joining imo.

I agree with ODBs points. But I do think there should be some level of diversity in the cars used in the banner. I think it would look nice with cars like BT's and Fastfours as well as somenice road cars like Spec-C's (yes i did just say that) and BC5RA's. Maybe we could even mix in some oldschool boys in there too.

If the shots are taken quite intentionally between the different photographers (as I can't foresee us being able to get everyone across the country in one place at the same time), then it won't be noticable with a ton of photoshopping. As you can see from the demo above it looks horrendous with an assortment of shots plucked outta nowhere and slapped together.

And no, I wasn't intending on having my car in there, it's an exception not a rule :P So don't worry, by 'diversity' et al I don't mean 'my car gets in or I throw a tanty' :D Any grey bums like it should be an STi.

  • 3 weeks later...

That would be great and thank you for the offer, but plz to read the whole thread :)

As a quick recap (again) - I'm not taking individual car shots. And I'm working on the layout as I find time. I've also just been accepted for a rather cool diploma in digital media, so at this rate I'll be able to do the ENTIRE site.

My bad, that sounds cool! Im sure you can make the site look a lot better, not that it is already, it serves it's purpose well but you can probably have some good fun making it even better :D

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
