  8. All Dyno Torque dyno's put out an odd torque figure on the plots. Been mentioned a few times. Need to convert it to a real figure based on the power and rpm at peak torque. Looks to be at 4750rpm and 170kw so comes out to 341nm

  10. Well, replaced plugs on the sti. They had an off brand I've never heard of instead of NGKs so I'm happy I got that squared away. Also got my tactrix cable, wideband, 3 port boost solenoid and egt gauge so hopefully I can knock out some tuning this week.

  13. This is why I can never own a "nice" car, my '01 STI is, upon somewhat close inspection, covered in little dings and garks and scratches. Once I learned to embrace them it made the car oddly way more practical

  15. Thoroughly good experience. I've a 2006 Legacy 3.0R which I booked in via their website for transmission service and brake system flush. Contact was responded to on the same day and job was booked. Arrived this morning at opening time. Was attended to promptly by the knowledgeable lady at the front desk - indicated I was happy to wait for work to be conducted (no choice really as I work a fair distance away). This wasn't a problem, was offered power point for laptop and coffee. I was picked up by a friend and left the site for a while. The mechanic phoned me to inform me that my brake pads had been incorrectly fitted - he'd taken photos which he showed me when I returned. Satisfied with the work undertaken which matched the quoted price. Other vehicle deficiencies were also pointed out. Invoice was very detailed as to the work done and the method used to do it. It was definitely worth the drive out there and I am happy in the knowledge that this garage knows what their doing and offers great customer at the same time. They've just secured a new customer.

  18. I was lucky enough to grow up working on my neighbors one. I fell in love with it. There weren't very many V6's produced in year 2000 from what I understand. I'm also of the understanding the the V-LTD was the very last run of V6's in year 2000 too meaning they were the very last of the GC8 shape produced - happy to be corrected here.

  33. Top drawer service again from H.A. Car went in today to replace the oil cooler and valve cover gaskets that were indicated as leaking on previous visit. Figured may as well replace the spark plugs at the same time. Was informed that upon inspection it was found that they still had plenty of life in them and that there was no need to change them. Great to see that honest mechanics still exist.

  36. Discovered that JDM HKS charge pipe will not bloody fit NZDM Legacy Reason: JDM have electronic power steering, NZ/AU/EU/USDM have hydraulic power steering and consequently an extra pulley that get's in a way.

  38. I just need a standard 10k service done on my turbo outback. Only just moved back to Hamilton so I'm a bit unsure of where to take, plus I'm aware that one of them screwed up some work on my old ladies legacy (several times).
