If the bumper is the only thing stopping it from being repaired, I'll just ask for a stock bumper plus cash or something. Not letting the car getting written off over a piece of plastic.4 points

Pretty gutted to see that your image with the huge bat wing on your car didn't make the cut @Batbaruman2 points

Rear ended by a 1970s Ford... Steel vs not steel... I know the driver and have all their details. We've both got full insurance. Now it's just a matter of will they repair or write-off. And if they repair... how are they going to replace that bumper... Glad I hadn't gotten around to putting the STi Boot Lip back on.2 points

Being a photography nerd I'm finding it really hard to not just vote for all of @sobanoodle's entries, haha. Maybe we should cap the entries per person next time:P2 points

Okay well here's my contribution to the car crimes thread. This is my daytime running light setup. All custom wiring, down to the LED C in the headlight. Just ripped the wire out of the headlight plug and put another one in that's connected to a fuse that only receives power in the "ACC" position Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Going to drop it off to a panel beater tomorrow. I'll ask them if there is any way they can contact me with their opinion on write-off vs repair before they contact the insurance company.1 point

Ouch, sorry to see about the damage. Knowing insurance as of late, it wouldn't surprise me if they try write it off. if you get the chance, maybe see if they'll just pay out the repair cost and let you sort it?1 point

That light bar isn't for night driving on the Bombay / Ramarama / Ararimu back-roads is it? (Looks like it would blind oncoming cars or those you're following) Great light while parked, or to switch on for long, uneven driveways.1 point

Alright then so I have swapped the coil and leads! Immediately, things were better. The massive, jerky hesitation was gone, however above 4k the car was still feeling sluggish - felt to me like it was missing a cylinder. I took it for a big drive and gave it a bit of a spanking, and the hesitation has crept back. It's nowhere near as bad, but its there. So, would I be right in assuming that maybe the coil that @axle117 extremely generously donated is on the fritz too, and as the car/coil got hot, it started to fail (how i'd expect a coil to fail normally)? I wondered if perhaps the plugs might have been a little glazed after all of the prior misfires, but since the failure appears to have come back a little, i'm guessing coil fault. Would that mirror everyone's thoughts? Ill order a new one from my friends at Subaru Lower Hutt tomorrow if so - I REALLY appreciate everyones input on this. I'm so infuriated that the problem I initially thought it was on day one, that I've spent 6 months trying to diagnose, is the fault after all. You guys are absolute legends.1 point
