I didn't think they could do that as the tollerance on your speedo reading would mean that theoretically people could get tickets for not actually speeding cause there spedo was 4 kph out or something then we would get them giving people their money back again. the thing with these changes is they get forced through by a slap happy government and not any of the people it will affect are consulted. I mean how hard would it be to get a group of people's opinions before anything gets changed and to give the people the right to vote on it.

Rant over!

No official story been in the news lately, BTW it has always been zero tolerance, they just never enforced it...

Anyway if you dont want to pay a fine and or loose demerits, keep to the speed limit. the cops will never know what hit them...

As for speedo error, the speedometer reed HIGHER than your actual speed (i.e. speedo says 100Km/H, you are actually probably doing 90 - 95) so that they dont get sued by your average moron that has an issue with not obeying laws on speed...

must be short on funds, or there is gonna be a major shift in the way policing is gonna be done, ie more investigations into proper crime less road policing.

I sure hope so.

I think you'll find the actual law has not and will not change, as the law itself calls for 100km/h zero tolerance. When the law is changed, there is indeed consultation and voting etc.

What 'gives us' the '10% threshold' is the NZ Police's own "speed enforcement guidelines" or w/e, which you can access at GOOGLE. That may or may not be changing, but may or may not have anything to do with the actual 'government'.

Depends entirely on the car and also on whether or not you've changed your wheels/tyres or not. My subaru reads approximately 4km/h under until at least 145 or so, but my previous car, a Toyota Celica, read BANG ON ACCURATE all the way to 130+...

Yeah, both my 'local' speed camera's are at the bottom of hills. All it takes is 2secs of inattention to your speed/braking and its *FLASH* "oh cock!"

You should be paying attention 100% of the time when driving. Fact of the matter is there is a big difference between 50 and 60kmp/h in respects to the damage you could cause.

I'm inclined to agree. Sticking to the speed limit is slightly irritating, but might as well set a good example. Not everything out there is capable in most conditions, and not everything is piloted by a capable driver... morons are less likely to wipe out and take others with them if traffic is always moving at the limit, or for the conditions.

Concentrate on DRIVING, and stick to the letter of the law, and no one's pockets (and hopefully no one, period) getes hurt. :)

But officer

1)I'm a good driver tho

2)I know these roads like the back of my hand.

3)My cars designed to go fast tho.

4)I was just seeing if you were paying attention.

5)I just finished passing some cars.

6)I just filled her up and was filling the fuel lines.

7)Good after constable noon, do you wants a beer, Hic up.

its not an attitude of 'im going to travel at 105km/h because i can', the issue is vehicle speed is constantly varying due to obvious reasons. How can you possibly enjoy driving if you have to check your speedo every few seconds to make sure you havent gained a few measly kilometres per hour more. Hence why there are thresholds in place, we are not machines. If you are to call that driving irresponsibly, every single driver is an ' irresponsible driver' including yourself.

No shit lol I never said I wasnt. The threshold you talk about isnt there to make driving enjoyable and you should be always be aware of your speed.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
