I would love to know where to hook up a oil temp gauge on a '91 Legacy.

Easiest and most common way is to get a sandwich plate and install between the block and the oil filter.

On the 2L cars a sandwich plate causes the oil filter to be the lowest part of the engine and sticks out/down,

and possibly one of the worst things to hit.

If your only after oil temp sensor a better solution is to drill & tap the sump plug, cheaper to

Usually not a problem if you use a genuine Subaru oil filter due to their smaller size. But if you use one of the many other brands, they are a lot bigger and do stick down a bit.

or you get the kit that relocates the filter as well..

And assuming you dont have aftermarket headers which also dont hang any lower.

i c didn't know that, come to think of it i was using a other brand filter when testing the sand which plate out...

and yea you could but getting a filter relocation kit to only fit a oil temp sensor is overkill when a sump plug costs $5 max & $10-$20 to get tapped, just swap it in at next oil change.

Edit: Even sand which plate are over kill when just fitting a oil temp sensor, $50ish? still next to wait till next oil change, and even then they are the devil according to some

Sandwich plate will allow you to run oil pressure sensor as well.

so will the oil gallery at the rear of the engine,

When mounted on sand which plate engine heat & vibrations can kill press senders (according to instructions, don't know if this is just to cover there ass etc tho) & weight of the oil press can break the screw in piece

I killed 2 oil press senders even when remote mounted, possibly because it wasn't fully secured.

Was just some heavy machinery place in paeroa, just get the thread of your sender (think mine was 1/8 NPT) and ring/go round asking places if they can tap it.

Got a sump plug from pick a part, any subaru one will do

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
