I will be there in one of the Legacys - white or yellow is not so certain. Depends on if I can fix the white one up tomorrow or not.

so you have a motor to drop in I assume?

Just as well - cos if you were on foot then you would get beaten by my mum :P

I'd beat her on the first lap I bet.

Put new seals in it today and just finished sitting it in the engine bay. However still need to reconnect everything, install inlet manifold and injectors. Then get the Link retuned for the new injectors. Then it will be ready.

So may well not be ready until next week :(

but it's your 3rd motor?

or have you fixed one of the others?

this is a bit off topic I guess.

FMICs are gay unless done full WRC styles.

I would have guessed that the horizontally mounted WRC intercooler (think its the 03 or 04 model??) would have the shortest piping. But you could almost call it a topmount anyway. I'll find a pic.

Not familiar with Swee's car but I was mostly taking the piss with the above post anyway.

I think the small piping post turbo is part of the exhaust gas recirculation system which they use instead of BOV's.

We've discussed the chamber and think that it is possibly a pressure chamber that is used so that it has instant boost. The tuning and setup on them is completely different to anything else I've ever seen. They can make ~20psi at a 2k rpm idle and are freeboosted midrange with the restrictor choking boost levels up higher in the revs.

None of the ex-Prodrive Mechanics that I've met know what the chamber is for (most of them worked there during the McRae/Burns era) but after talking to a few guys we've hypothesised that it holds pressure as they release a large amount of high pressure air after they cross the finish line. This only happens once they switch off the anti-lag etc and the car settles back to a normal idle level.

Based on which model year for WRC? i.e. the sloping one or the horizontal v-mount??

I was actually thinking of some GC8 WRC cars that someone posted pics of and were for sale in the UK.

I think they had the turbo outlet pointing directly forward going under the intake manifold, straight out to a vertically mounted IC which was top fed. There was no

power steering. The intake manifold was reversed and fed from the top of the IC,

a bit like the horizontal one in the second pic.

Similar to this type of setup??

But done with Prodrive budget so it would look a bit flashier.

did u notice the turbo is on its side ??

Its a rather expensive turbo and they've run them vertically for years. They could also afford to replace the turbo nearly every day of competition.

And hence they no longer can afford to race WRC (subaru anyways prodrive still doing there thing)

yep, pretty much just like that actually... big carbon intake pipe etc.

my piping will be no longer than that last pic, altho my pipes dont come from the top of intercooler but instead out the back of the end tanks (flipped cooler) and straight through the radiator gap in the bulkhead, requires custom radiator of course.

i wouldnt do front mount without doin it right.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
