Factor in the v7 being heavier and there will be stuff all difference in the real world Id say. The newer vfs (30,34,36,37 etc) do seem to make better area under the torque curve while making the sameish peak power even when chucked on a non-avcs engine, better compressor designs no doubt.

I always found the 23 had the worst of all worlds but thats my opinion and no one cares about that :P

Yeah im not trying to prove any thing just saying ive made good improvements since that dyno and im just trying to work out if a VF30 is going to give me gains and by the looks of things it will

correct - by gains we mean better power in the mid and low and yielding about the same if a touch less up top than your current turbo.. right ;) but broad brush will be a 'faster' car.

Get a VF34 if you can. I went VF30 -> 34 on my V7 and it was a night and day difference in terms of driveability. VF34 is well spooled at 3000rpm (motorway 109kph cruise RPM), you just squash the throttle and away you go. VF30 is still tieing its shoelaces at 3k.

here is the two 'power' curves overlaid. i need corrected figures to do the torque.

can you see the massive hole between the green and blue until over 100?

This is why it, all things being equal, the green one will be faster. Its making more at every point except right at the top - so its long gone by the time you hit peak kw. And they will just shift gears and be right back in the power again.

Altho i argree that a vf3x is a better turbo and also that the green car will be faster.

Its abit hard to make comparisions for the two turbos in these dynos as they have such different boost profiles. I would suspect that if you set the vf23 to make 20psi in the mid range then the difference would be much smaller.

As a general rule a vf3x turbo is capable of 5-10% more flow than a vf23/24

Flow = power.

In the real world on the same type of dyno best i have seen is 220kw for a vf23 and 246kw for a vf34.

Which seems to follow the flow figures.

about 245kw but that was on a hub dyno - some say they read high.

There was on guy on here Mixja - got 300kw on a hub then could only muster 260kw on a rolling road a week later...

So I don't like comparing hub and rolling road results - be nice one day to do a real test to know one way or the other.

hopefully i can get the 20psi tune done before the next dyno day

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
