Good Question.

My perception would be:

1st car.. 2000 Impreza 20k Wagon = Not boyracer car (its totally stock, factory wheels, exhaust, etc) this car never really attracts any attention, I do 15,000ks a year in it and havn't ever been pulled over..

2nd car 1997 WRX = Is a boyracer car, 3inch exhaust, Big Tacho etc, noisy BOV, havn't been pulled over yet, but only had it 3 months. (have only done 300kms since buying it).

Yet the most touble ive had with the law reguarding what type of car im driving is when ive been driving my

old RX-323 and my 1.8 fwd gen1 legacy vx.

Ok so the 323 was a rotary, but the legacy was as far from a boyracer as any boyracer would have wanted to been seen in.

I had a cop pull me over for my car being too low...fact is the car wasnt too low he just pulled me over for nothing..and when he figured that out then tryed to ask me if Im wanted by the police and am I sure thats me in my lisence photo. after 20 mins of this guy holding me there for no reason he pops out of his car and tells me have a good night. so id say yeah my car is looked upon as a boy racer car.

I have been pulled over a couple times for no reason. They ask for my license then check the reg and wof and leave without a reason why.

Its not like its dirty with paint and body hangin off and driven in a dangerous manner. I do know for a fact if your car is tidy and looks the part, ie clean tidy in good knik the po pos wont even give you a second look. This comes from experience on a few ride alongs.

I got pulled over a bit when i first got it but not much anymore. Smallish town means most cops pull you over to see whos driving the new car in town. Once word gets around if your not a tool you get left alone.

I just get pulled over by new cops now really, Rego and warrant check and on my way. Funnily enough the cops who know me (have done the rego warrant check a few times) often dont even stop me at WOF and Rego check points anymore as they know me and know I keep my car legit at all times.

Yep - lowered, mags, tints (but ripped off now) standard exhast tip (sick of being harrassed) front kit/mount and external w/gate, i dont drive like an idiot, been pulled over a few times...less now that i got rid of the tints. theyll be back on soon enough tho

Mine is basically standard on the outside bar the 17" gold OZ wheels and the exhaust (which is very quite) and I get pulled up all the time. Forget the amount of times I get asked if i've cut my springs... it's factory, far from looking low ??? And AFAIK I don't look dodgy lol

Never got pulled over in my GSR 1400. but i would think i look bit more bogan than Boy racer in it lol
