terrible understeer in the wet

I would say the triangles aren't helping on the front, could you put the MY01's on the front and see if there is an improvement?

I like to try zero cost remedies before spending cash...

I have Bridgestone MY01's on all four corners and find them excellent

I have triangles on all 4's. I often get mocked because of them, came with the car with tread on them, but handeling wise they aren't the greatest.

Having the same tyres all around should be better overall for balance whether they are good or bad. Having poor tyres on the front and good ones on the back is a recipe for understeer. Various driving styles can also exacerbate or moderate things like understeer, so you could try driving around it.

Tyres and wheel alignment. Tbh my forester still has pretty bad understerr on the track on acceleration, even with 24mm swaybars and the rear dialed up hard and back suspension dampers up full hard. I just have too much rear grip for the front.

And after having my track car set to oversteer and then set back to umdersteer i prefer understeer/neutral handling, way more predictable and easier to keep on the road ifyour not 100% on to it ie racing with a hangover :S lol

Talon Triangle tyres are absolute crap. Had them on my ute and it just wanted to skid off the road all the time. Upgraded to Neuton NT5000 which aren't super flash tyres either, but absolute miles better then the Triangles. So chances are having crap tyres on front + alright ones on the back = understeer.

your problem is absolutely your tyres. triangles in the wet need to be driven with caution. they handle like they're on very loose gravel. i have them on my commodore. GREAT for doing skids and/or extremely slow drifts. i need to absolutely nana it around rounabouts otherwise it's all over the show. dangerous really for inexperianced drivers. i'd hate to think what would happen if needed to stop in hurry.

yeah im going to put them on the back, its a lot easier to catch (in my opinion) than understeer

good luck. I'll wait for the "wtd: rear 1\4 of a forester" thread. lol

I has popcorn ready...

Replace the bloody garbage tyres and get something better (Jesus even budget Firestone's will give a measurable improvement)

Even halfway decent tyres don't cost that much (maybe a big tank of petrol each) and keep you on the road a helluva lot better than those ching-a-ling wing-de-wong-number tyres.

AKA Chinese takeaway tyres.

Can't remember who first came up with that term.. Turtle ? One of the early Daves ?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
