NEW Road Rules from March 25th

Did a couple hundred kms today with only one issue but I figured there might be issues so I was alert to the guy who almost hit me.

Got about 1000 KM to do in the next 3 days. I am a little concerned.

Drove Wellington to Auckland yday with no probs..not that there are many right hand turns on that route. Did it in sons sunny....600kms used 33 litres!

Wanganui to auckland, ~450kms via paraparas, used 50l, trip done and dusted in 5 hours 10 mins. Amazing what good traffic, good weather and a comfortable seat will do...

And no, no breaking of the posted speed limits, just didnt spend much time under them either. Parapara hway is AWESOME

Oh yeah this is the road i have always used to "test" my car builds, If you can do the Para paras quickly and safely then you have a car of note

Forester sits nice and flat, little understeer but i put that down to standard front sway bar with sti rear one and crappy (triangle) tyres. Can't wait till i get some good tyres on her and see how we go.

Almost got wiped out by crazy asian lady this morning... Stoopid auckland drivers... Palmy and wanganui drivers are polite, courteous, friendly and very very good drivers in comparison....

Drove past the aftermaft of a accident today. Dont know if it had anything to do with the new rules or not.

one wee car had its whole intire front bumper grill etc ripped off it.

The other pointed wrong way up on the verge.

Did Palmerston North to Hamilton today and a lot of driving in the Tron. Lots of people seem to be taking the close eyes and go faster approach

walked dog 2nite..first intersection up street..complete disregard for new rules by a car turning right. Just blew right on through...variation of rule..other arm of the T goes after me..

I just get sick of the stupid old geezers that cut me off at intersections they're lucky that I'm a good. Driver (and I'm in my mums bmw usually, so I don't want to crash it, the rest of the time, its my old mans work ute, I can't crash that- I'm not insured )

Yeah, some intersection courtesy would be nice to have from some drivers.

Had a few near misses with people not giving way to me when Im turning left.

I dont make as many right hand turns as I used to. Tend to be to much traffic and takes to long to turn right. So normally go left instead.

I have noticed lately that people have lapsed back into their old habits, a few near misses last couple of days...

Oh and while on the topic

WTF is it with Kiwi's and running the orange light (while cars waiting to turn right in intersection) and worse yet WTF is up with running red lights (so far into red its Green for us when they do it)... ??? :

Known as Christchurch orange train. If you don't run an orange turning right you never get to turn. Christchurch doesn't have enough green right arrow intersections.

Yeah they suck eh, and yes we have noticed that there is a higher percentage of red light runners here in Christchurch compared to Wellington.

How many people DONT use the new give way rule! Every morning at the intersection i head down just up the road they never give way to me...i just carry on and it means they have to stop in the middle of the road.

There's this one street in wellington that's an "X" junction with four stop signs. Had this happen to me (except with stop signs on us both):

and the guy (represented here by a cyclist) got a bit stroppy at me for giving way. Wut.

(Unless I'm wrong somehow, in which case queue embarrasment for me!)
