New Cert laws

heard through the grape vine about new cert law requirements. To get cert for mods you need to part of a motorsport affiliated club and have a letter from the club president saying you know how to handle a modified car. To sell the car the buyer needs to be a member e.t.c to register the car under their name. This is on the back of plans to do the same for certing 4wd's modded for off road use.

To hard to implement. It would write off a fair percentage of Nzs cars if true, which i doubt it will be.

i dont think anything would stop clubsub from being a motorsport club with the correct paperwork. i doubt it will happen anyway

I see how they would or could make this enforcable. Like i said before, youd write off alot of cars in Nz.

And define mods.

Mags? BOV? Different brake pads? Spoilers/kits?

i think its more for the more serious mods, power increase, brake upgrades, adjusts e.t.c

I'm a member of Hamilton car club and the president wouldn't have a clue who i am so how could he say weather i could handle a car or not? only reason i joined them was to get a clubsport license and i've been to one clubnight but no events because their communication is so crap!

Just as an aside it is NOT a joke that any chipped or reflashed car must apparently be certed and as such declared to your insurance company
