What\'s the bet it went to Porirua shortly afterwards?

That sucks man. Always makes me worry a little bit extra when a late-model one goes missing.

Out of interest, was it alarmed and if so is there any sign of how they got around it?

I very much doubt i will ever see it again tbh, chances are it is parted out already. The next question is what to replace it with...

Insured obviously ( I hope for you) ? You will be waiting at least a month for a payout hen expect to haggle.... I hate insurance companies....!

Hire car cover doesn\'t count when it\'s been stolen!

Insurance has quoted me a 7 day period before a payout so hopefully won\'t have to wait a month, its bloody cold on the motorbike at the moment!

Not the case with all insurance companys.. i had a standard 2 weeks incase the car turned up. After those two weeks they payed me what we agreed on.

Wonder what they were doing under the BCS cover? does your alarm wiring go through that area?

I\'d say 99% of the derp-worthy AVS installs I\'ve seen have "cunningly" put the siren underneath it.

Go have a look in the bushes nearby, see if you can find your siren.

Did it have a bonnet sensor pin?

yep, it was a supposedly 5 star mongoose alarm, bin net pin, immobilizer , everything

Same story with me. Had a 5star dynatron alarm. immobilizers bonnet pin and they still managed to take it. I suspect the rolled my car down the road straight onto a truck and took off. Wouldnt be suprised if they did the same with yours.

Dumb thing is that your star rating is only valid if installed professionally (otherwise byebye insurance) yet most installers don\'t do more than the default.

There\'s a pretty obscene number of "5 star" alarms in New Zealand with the bonnet pin on the radiator support bar, the siren right up top on the firewall and the brain just tucked up by the steering column, usually with all the immobiliser cuts done at the same place in the wires. Not that this helps the OP sadly.

I\'ve worked with a very good alarm installer, wondering if over this summer I might offer to have a look over alarm installs if people want and tell them where they could be improved. I\'m sure there\'s a good few members here who would vouch that I\'m not going to use that knowledge to come after anyones car later.

How many people actually check their alarms function as advertised? I didn\'t know the drivers door wasn\'t even connected on my old alarm until I pulled the thing out to replace it.

Most of the "5-Star" alarms straight out of the box are crap. Add to the fact they arent install very good and on the cheap. No-one wants to pay $400+ to do a proper install. Just another Insurance money making venture.

GPS, lock in a alarm garage and chained to the floor still wont stop it being stolen.

Its a Question of when, just like Death and Taxes.

A 5-star alarm installed properly will stop anything short of a towtruck (or someone with a few uninterrupted hours and a full toolkit). The problem is not the alarms, it is the installers.

Police have officially given up the "search" ::) . Insurance company will call me on monday to discuss a settlement :-\ .

Now the question is to Evo or not to Evo ?

Go see some dealers and joyride some cars. Which evo would you go for? Only get a evo 5-6 for the sameish money as what you had I wouldve thought.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
