Should i be worried?

Hey, Not sure if this is in right section but.... looking to buy an 03 gtb wagon (new shape). Has 165km on clock. should i be worried about possible state of turbos at these sorts of km\'s? Realise things are getting alot more reliable these days but would love a 2nd opinion. Thanks

No I wouldn\'t worry about the turbos, if you test drive the car you might be able to hear them spooling up but you don\'t want to be hearing much more than that.. I brought my b4 at 174,000 and the turbos have a cool super charger type sound but they aren\'t on there way out

just sidetracking a little. My B4 does the same, any idea what it actually is doing to make the sound, i\'d always thought it was bearings or something like that and that it\'ll need replacing in the not too distant future

i would check over engine bay frequently, check water/oil and treat her well and she\'ll be ok

Depends on the oil change intervals, subaru recommends every 7500km\'s max, most "its just a car owners" will only do every 10000kms.I change mine every 5000kms on my 04 which has done 185000kms without a problem.

yea it sounds just like a supercharger whine, seems to do it most when spooling up slowly rather than when pushing it a bit.

only had mine for 6000km and changed it about 3000km ago

Bought mine at 185k now at 270 turbos still no issues.

No record of them being replaced before I got it.

always wanted to say that lol on a brighter note its all in maintenance on how long a car will last along with its associated parts

Id be more worried about suspension/dif/swing arm bushes and shocks etc than turbos

Aftermarket BOV? If so you might have a small boost leak at the BOV.

I\'d say the vf31/32 combo combo just have that whining sound, to much of coincidence for it not to be that, since two cars on here do it..

I heard a yellow gtb making the sound yesterday, IMO I think it sounds awesome but from what I understand it\'s quite normal.

I drove a 03 bp wagon with 350,000 on it and I\'d say it drove better than a lot of cars I\'ve driven that have 100,00 on them, comes down to what style driving its had
