Front LSD

Hey does anyone know which models of sti got front LSD\'s?

I am fairly sure the version 7 on-wards got them but not 100% as I know that some early evo\'s (RS) models got a front LSD I believe so I thought perhaps some RA\'s might have as well or maybe it was an option?

run the numbers on em pretty sure theres a thread with em on there could be wrong but pretty sure the prodrives got em

Only GC8 with standard front LSD was the STI v5/6 Type RA Limited.

NZ new STi v7, v8 got a Suretrac front LSD.

NZ STI v9, v10 got a helical LSD.

Ditto NZ new v11.

Optional on JDMs.

Yes.

A lot of stuff standard on NZ new cars was optional on the JDM equivalents.

Eg, front LSDs, quick steering racks, front strut braces, passenger airbags etc.

A trawl through Tardme will show cars with varying specs.

From what I read on the thread suggested in the newer GD models only the non DCCD model have an open front diff. Which makes me think its the singapore spec more than a JDM spec? what are your thoughts guys?

No I mean I am saying thats what the SDPA link seems to say, go to v7 or v8 jdm and it says "viscous center diff" instead of DCCD and then open diff. All the ones that say DCCD instead of "viscous 4kg center" seem to have a front LSD. seriously, have a look for yourself

I think that\'s correct as the dccd wud need to lock all wheels on lock mode hence the LSD front and rear on them....

The dccd does not know and can not do anything about left to right torque split on either axle . It is front to rear torque split

But yea on the dccd cars I hav driven once on lock it sure feels a lot more gritty at low speeds

Anyway doesnt a front LSD make the car more underster prone? Perhaps...

ok fair enough not to make generalisations but it is accurate to say IF your V7upwards has DCCD controls then it DOES have a front LSD.

Only the viscous non DCCD have open diff but not ALL of the Viscous are open front diff.

The codes are printed and deciphered for easy consumption already, just read the build tag of the car and all is answered re; does this car have whatever
