Which BP5?

Ok so I\'m thinking about moving on from the mighty BH5 to a BP5 and was wondering about which model to get. My BH5 is a rev D and I was wondering if there\'s a similar model to look for in the BP\'s. Or are they all created relatively equal?

Thanks

as above there are serveral base options, not withstanding the gearbox choices:

* 2.0l non turbo 4 banger - 3.5 donkey power

* 2.0l twin scroll turbo 4 banger - 190 odd kw

* 3.0l non turbo 6 banger - 180kw.

there is 5 speed autos, 5 speed auto with tiptronic, 5 speed manual and a few rare 6 speed manuals..

just realised... you asked which \'bp5\'... if you knew that was the turbo version they are mostly the same, there is a bilstein spec one, and a non. power wise and drivetrain they are identical.

Go for the Spec-B sedan (2.0L Turbo) **pretty sure they are single scroll**

Manuals are pretty hard to find, but the 5 speed tiptronic is vastly better than older models with some pretty cool features like g sensor to prevent mid corner up\downshifts.

If $$$ allow get a Subtech Frontpipe, remove the middle cat\resonator and get an ECU tune from PBMS in Pukekohe. Nets you better economy and 225kw at engine (180kw at wheels). Total cost about $1500.

nah, both twin scroll.

Manuals get the TD04 which is a slightly \'better\' turbo than the VF38 that the Auto\'s get, supposedly 260 japanese horsepowers for the auto and 280 for the manual.

Facelift (RevD 07-08, 2.0) JDM autos and manuals both switched to VF45s.

No revisions that mean much in the BP5 really.

Facelift is 2006+ which include SI Drive and 6 Speed plus cosmetic changes. These cost a lot more than the older ones.

The only other thing to watch for is bilstein suspension or Spec B.

Go for the 2.0 turbo manual.

The 3.0R is good if you are not that interested in performance and prefer a smoother car.

My pick would be a facelift 2.0 turbo manual, or 03-05 turbo manual if on a budget.

You have insulted my honor sir! I challenge you to pistons at dawn!

But they arent slow at all and they are a performance car in there own right

Haha :)

I\'ll say performance is brisk, and good for it\'s class. The 3.0R motor is actually a great piece of work and makes for a good package in the leggy.

But, the turbo is faster and has more potential. If you are keen to do bolt on mods like downpipe, intercooler and tune then the turbo will destroy the 3.0.

The 2006 models are coming sown in price all the time. I drove one in CHCH a few weeks ago that had done about 100ks and was selling for $13999. Saw another one on TM in Wellington that had done very similar k\'s for $12999. Both were auto/tiptronic versions. The one I drove was awesome, love the SI Drive. Some people say they can\'t feel a difference, they must be paralyzed from the ears down?

The only thing si drive changes is the throttle response.

Power wise - its the same between I, S and S#

Which is single scroll if I\'m not mistaken.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

      Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
