exhaust

turbo upgrade

bigger injectors and pump

then tuned it up all on the stock ecu :)

has launch control and antilag for the owner as well for some some show off fun

this was on the stock top mount (we will get a front mount and push it a bit more actually)

Wow that's great!

which tuner is this by the way?

thats pretty cool, which turbo and more importantly how was the power curve? getting more and more curious about what is the best bang for buck on the v7. i've learned in fairly expensive way that chasing top power is pointless and should be more concerned about the distribution of that power through the rev range.

car feels very punchy actually when gets on boost..

there is some lag due to bigger turbo but not bad at all..

for the big power stuff - people throw so many mods when sometimes its the simple upgrades that yield the best results.... best to plan

for a punchy 240-250kw street v7sti - is fairly cheap actually..

So true! I am going to go with a stock location turbo i think just to get a bit more punchy power rather than chasing the 300kw figure haha. At the Chrome expression session at manfield I noticed the power band difference quite a lot with coming out of the corner onto the front straight next to a high KW big turbo evo / wrx and them only passing me 3/4 down the straight as I was on boost and not falling out of it from the moment my foot hit the floor.

I definitely think it depends what you are wanting the car for but it was quite interesting to see car vs car. I am sure @calebwrx would of noticed this also.

tbh if I was being passed by someone it was usually my fault, not the car's haha

depends on the turbo - we had a rotated greddy td06 (@304kw) and that was punchy on the low end as well (very  similar to the vf30 with a touch more lag maybe like 300rpm) but in higher rpm was almost the same feel

the chinese td05 do have noticeably more lag but for the cost they cant be considered bad...

Hey,

I've been looking into a rotated gtx3076r setup,

Not sure on injectors yet but was thinking just going with Bosch 1000cc E85 compatible injectors (probably going to stay on 98 pump for a while)

And HDi hybrid FMIC,

Suggestions for the exhaust?, It's just a cheap Ebay Turbo back setup at the mo.

Thanks

I had ID1000 injectors on my old car, which worked really well.

Have you thought about getting a custom exhaust set up made locally? Might be around the same price or possibly cheaper than freighting one over from overseas? Otherwise keep an eye out on Trademe and Subaru Speed. i found my 3inch Fujitsubo exhaust for $400 when i was looking.

If you decide to go Genuine with your turbo, give me a yell as I can get hold of Garrett and Borg Warner for good prices.

the rotated setup would be nice

ID 1000 work great as used on a few cars that i have tuned.

FMIC - dependinig on budget u can also do mushimoto as they do a good unit

exhaust - you will need to get some custom fabrication done

have u got a shop that has done this for u?

@Subirex Automotive would do a nice build if you are looking for suggestions.

Yeah probably looking to go genuine, are there any other turbos you'd recommend?
