Whatfueldoiuse
I'm looking into installing a catted downpipe on my STI and then getting a tune. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the empire performance downpipe? Seems to good to be true considering the price, however would rather not fork out 1250$ for an Invidia one. Bugle
If it's a 2.0L and you are not set on the cat this is another option (budget $100 for an adaptor also) Sounds better than stock, this and a happy tune on the spec c was 220Kw at the wheels https://www.possumbournemotorsport.com/pbms-grb-gvb-vab-downpipe-2.0l-twin-scroll-jdm Edited August 2 by Bugle

Admin boon Posted August 4 Admin Share Posted August 4 It's only $750 more. There's a reason the PPD ones are so cheap. If you consider that the cat alone has to be worth a couple of hundred bucks, $300 doesn't leave a lot for things like quality, thick steel, good welding, and flanges that are actually flat. Alright I'll get the Invidia one most likely then, thanks.

I have the money and am willing to spend it, I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with the cheaper downpipe. Since I would be worried about buying it and finding out its terrible after spending an additional 1k on a tune for said downpipe. Admin Andy_Mac Posted August 8 Admin Share Posted August 8 Go for the Invidia then. Empire is pretty much eBay spec stuff so don’t expect bang on fitment or a decent cat in it
Admin boon Posted August 9 Admin Share Posted August 9 The flip side that warrants mentioning - I asked around and found someone that has been running a PPD exhaust for a couple of years... admittedly on a diesel ute, not a performance car, and it has held up just fine EXCEPT that it has rusted, which is kinda funny considering it's "stainless"
Whatfueldoiuse
Alright cheers for the replies, I was leaning towards the Invidia to begin with but will definitely be sticking with it now.
