A friend spotted him at a RNZ service park, he was the only driver not mixing it with his crew, instead he was swanning around with his entourage.

I beg to differ with this, I went to each of the driver signing sessions over the weekend the rally was on and he was one of the most willing to talk to fans and take photos etc. And this extended to other times like at the service park where he could have stayed well away from the fans at the barrier, but he was there signing autographs and taking photos with people. So I came away with a lot of respect for him haha.

As for his performance, he's still relatively new to the WRC and it had been quite a while since he spent time in his WRC car. And being a privateer he'll always be punching slightly above his weight against the factory backed Citroens and Fords. My 2c anyways

I wasn't talking about the press-the-flesh sessions, of course KB would excel at those, he's a salesman after all !

Other drivers were actively involved in the nuts and bolts of their cars but not KB.
