You wanting to test my ego guys ? I have to go buy a prezzy for a birthday party I’m going to a 6 tonight, but I’m so want to retort to this so I will be back, this is going to be fun. its a std 1997 wrx BC5RA

SO much disinformation in one thread. gah. please check what you are posting! if your not sure then its not helping anyone reading this thread is it?

V2 wrx = TD04 90 degree inlet EJ20G

V2 sti = TD05 90 degree inlet EJ20G

JDM V3 wrx sedan manual =VF22 (EJ20K block) this is the badboy wrx with yellow injectors /large afm

JDM V3 wrx sedan auto =TD04 straight inlet (EJ20G block)

JDM V3 wrx wagons =TD04 straight inlet (EJ20G block)

JDM V3 sti's =VF23 (EJ20K block)

if you've a wagon, your engine is likely EJ20Gxxxxxx then the VF22 has been swapped in.

mods feel free to pick over this as well..

Interesting I thought it was only the v2 hatch got the td04 as my previous v2 non-sti sedan had the Td05h.

that and they are almost 15yo cars with parts that are easily swapped by owners.

Edit - Swindog

Argument should have ended in the last thread that was locked.

If you wish to carry the argument on take it outside of the site. Hijacking of threads to have a final say wont be tolerated.

ok i will wade in with jesus and company :P

Having worked for one of the worlds largest truck building companies.

Also i doubt weather to many of you have been in a big vehicle manufactuers as an employee on site.

Fact 1 Not all models carry the same components!

Fact 2 All companies will use different new parts on cars

Reasons for this are"suppliers" unable to be on time.

also "breakages"

Car companies only order certain quantities of "store" parts for builds.

Once they run out due to x reasons, they will interchange parts on vehicles, just to get them out and off the line.

One should never take it as a given, that models hold the same parts "turbo,s wiring looms, exhausts".

Or even the same suspension.

Not having a dig at all.

I have been in the vehicle manufacture side of things and have seen all of the above done to get certain models to get them out the door on time due to parts shortages.

Cars are built to an "MSR" spec sheet, but at the end of the day are built by humans!!!!! :)

You would never know ,unless you can get the original build sheet.

They are kept as a record for any changes made to a vehicle.

However good luck trying to get them from the company, they dont generally let them go unless it is a specific owner request while the car is being built for them. :)

yeah true also the yellows and 90mm afm could of been put on after but i've heard of other nz new with a K in the model code that also have the yellows and 90mm afm.

I know of a wagon in rotorua and a sedan in wanganui or is it whanganui :D

i was told they got the yellows as they have no speed cut and are geared for 257km/hr and the yellows are to provide to fuel if it ever had to go that fast.

The above could be way off.

wasnt being a cock at all :)

was laughing at the 320km speed limit ;D

Fact is unless you buy the car brand spanking new,you nay never know who has owned the car in japan an played with it before you get it.

The bones of it is that the majority of cars will be the same in respect to spec and parts.

But not all :)

not saying my cars going to ever go that fast i'm just saying that on the first high octance dvd he says they come over to nz as or max speed limit is 320kms while its only 180 over in japan the law is still 100 but the max speed is 320km/hr on closed roads of course its before they do there speed runs kitzel says it

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
