WRX plastic Undertray?

Can anyone confirm if a v5 WRX ever came with a plastic tray that bolts under the motor.

Every other Subaru I've owned has had one but not my WRX. I asked a guy on trade me that was parting a wrx out if he wanted to sell it and he told me thy never came with one.

People take em out, so yeah, many wont have em. My legacy had one, i took it out. If you want it you can have it, it should bolt right up.

Scratch that, i threw it out when i moved.. bugger. Oh well, pick-a-part may have one

My engine looked like a brand new item underneath, right up until i sold it..

Do you think a legacy one will fit? I imagine it is th same being the same motor and all, but just didn't know for sure.

Yea, I want one to stop road grime getting up into the motor bay making it dirty all the time.

Don't think a WRX sheild will fit a legacy as they have clips and holes made specificaly for that model, but you could just butcher it to fit...

Cable ties are your friend...

Neither of my wrxs Ive owned ever had one, but in saying that I have seen them on other wrx's lol.

my V1 had one 2

the engine undertrays were first fitted as factory to Ver 3 and ver 4 sedan Ra and RASTI and type r coupe.

then fitted to V5 and V6 Sedan Ra, RA STI, Auto WRX wagons and Type r coupes

dont know why they only showed up on some models, maybe something to do with group n homologations??

Is that the alloy ones or the plastic ones?

The alloy skid plates were around at least from the BC/BF5 onwards as far as I am aware as I have one on mine and have seen them on several other ones before. The GC8 ones Ive seen are quite a different design in comparison too.

Your is different to mine, from what I've seen of yours.

My skid plate is much wider and has an STI sticker.

Mine can be seen here:

Ive since straightened it a bit and with the front mount it now sits under the front bumper rather than wrapping round it. The WRX ones I have seen are square and go round the front bumper lip and have holes in that area too.

thats identical to the one i have just taken off my legacy, i didnt like how it sticks out and besides i dont need it. was that a factory part? or aftermarket do you know?

From what Ive seen it seems to be a factory part, Ive seen them on a few cars now and mine came off another Legacy at a wreckers. Although I didnt notice any FHI or Subaru markings on it.

If you dont want it I might be interested in buying it off you...

yea mine has no markings on it either, will have to let you know if its for sale as QRAF has mentioned something bout wanting it, but will confirm. i definately dont plan to keep it though.

bigger plastic ones

the alloy ones were probably a dealer fitment accessory in japan
