since when exactly...

if we are talking v3 onwards (as i cant comment for 1/2) im sure the GF's do just the same amount as GC's, certainly my GF (read: hatchback (for the smart buggers)) keeps up ;)

all the spec sheets i have seen says that GF's come out with the full 206kw at the engine..

I think its well understood that Auto's have less, in the order of 180 - 190kws depending on the model and year

yup the same - same engine, turbo and ecu - afaik

maybe slightly heavier but minimal difference

to answer this question

the manual sedan is the base model.

an auto or wagon has a detuned ecu, sometimes accompanied by a smaller turbo and different block

usually a STI model has the same output between sedan/wagon

Sedan would be faster if you went technical with aerodynamics etc...

ermm wasnt the last subaru that was in WRC a hatch?

and completely irrelevant - arent all over manufactors usng hatchs as well?

For clarification I have a 97 wagon wrx manual import (not STI) the infomation on a UK site similar to the info given by Dirca above and also in a book called Subaru Impressa Turbo by Chris Rees says they put out less power but not why. In 97 for example for a Jap import wagon like mine it puts out 250PS in manual form but the saloon puts out 280PS. (The automatic wagon puts out 240PS). My understanding was the TD04 turbo was across the range (not STI or RA) in this year along with other changes coils, intake manifold etc. Still leaves the main question unaswered though. Is it the ECU or turbo scroll or.... :-\

Actually the new Impreza hatch (i.e. MY08) had a longer wheelbase than the previous model.

And I wouldn't say that the +2000 models are bloated. That would imply that they are carrying extra, unnecessary weight yet they seem to perform better and better every year.....

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
