REXITE aka Mr February..or least a half Mr February has spat the dummy on Pukekohe and subject to expert analysis when it is trucked back down later this week is going to be off the road for a while with suspected BEB failure.

So those peeps who got the 2010 Calendar now have a collectors edition...

I had decided against yy better judgemnet (brain) to let my heart rule and take it out on Pukekohe on Sunday followed by Hampton Downs on Tuesday.

So with all the usual track prep the day started okay with a sedate 3 laps followed by warm down etc..then another 3 slightly quicker..208kph and warm down and then another three which included when entering the back straight the big noise/graunching and revs down to 4000. Limped along back straight holding back tears to make pit lane when it died. It can do about 2500 rpm whilst sounding like its tearing itself apart inside down low.

A few trackside opinions later and start up followed by graunching rattling etc the consensus was BEB.

So its being transported back....

Thanx to my counsellors to date and future expert advisors..

Its going to be a while till Im back on the road unless Lotto comes along or the stars get themselves aligned as we are about to realise Sarahs dream of becoming an ambulance paramedic intern...she starts on 23 March. Im so proud.

The car can wait....

Ah that sucks, hope it doesnt take to long to get back on the road. Gilbert spat his bits late last year in very non dramatic style on the road!! $$$$$ later and hes now a V3.5 as he has V5 bottom and V3 top

Fingers crossed, I've had 2 subis in almost 10 years and still no engine/gearbox failure. Sucks to hear ur off the road, but at least ul be able to come back even stronger.

Yup, its even worse when your beasty drops a cylinder in the middle of nowhere with no cellphone reception & its a public holiday.... now that really sucks as well!

Yeah I had that with a fuel pump dying, at 4am in the middle of nowhere.... Able to limp it home but what was an hour trip took almost 3 or so hours.....

re the fuel pump I decided pre the last Welly DIY meet to pro actively fix that as preventative maintenance a 169ks not wishing it to fail on a road trip..thanx to Spark_38 for the install.

Engine took fright at better fuel flow and @#$% itself instead...moral.."dont trouble trouble till trouble troubles u".....

that happened to me also in Taupo in the middle of no where and it was negative something degree had to sleep in my car for the night. and woke up my car was all iced and frosted

For me mine turned out that it was a fuse that blew, but at god knows what time in the morning I couldn't figure that out. Had to limp home only using 1/5 throttle, anymore and the wrx would splutter and just die I had to pay sooo much attention when to accalerate down hill lol cause if there was a hill I couldn't get up I would of been stuck for the night.
