let's make our voice heard, MM voting

B4 2000

I know that a lot of you keen to attend MM -Mega Meet- but not everyone can afford the expenses associated with it (fuel, ferry, food, accommodation, etc) if it's going to happen in the north island - i went this year and i know it wasn't cheap ;)- so why only us have to suffer to pay for an expensive weekend >:(

So let's all vote for ruapuna in the general voting

http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,15247.0.html

Note: there is no winning in this vote, it's just to give the committee an idea on where the demand is and if the committee see a huge demand on having one in here SI; they will put a bigger consideration in having one here, 2012 hopefully.

yes we can, and have run our own trackdays, but remembering we are part of ClubSUB, and alot of us are paid members too. Put simply, its bulls*** that we should be disadvantaged and the only reason given is that we are in the south island.

there have already been 4 MMs in the NI.

Joker, it's not about track days only, it's bout not forgotten that there are paid members down here. I CAN afford going up north and sadly i will (depending on time), but i don't say "meh i don't care bout those who can't because i can". PUT YOURSELF IN THEIR SHOES.

...book the track - you might be surprised who turns up....

(and cover costs) it doesn't matter what the club 'has' in the bank (but it helps) in case we run into a loss as many events do, as long as the paid members benefit from their subscription

as long as it dnt clash with NI LOL, perhaps other end of the year?

I'm going to agree with Joker here. Why can't someone just organise a Ruapuna trackday if you're all so keen. I personally think that the club as a whole has become too focussed on MEGA MEET. Why can't it just be a SI trackday? Raydeo proved that it can be done, WRXER has run heaps of them in the past. It doesn't have to be a whole countrywide affair as I'd guess about 90% of people who attend their local trackdays couldn't afford to stump up the cash to do an interisland trackday. I don't even like going as far as Timaru cause its a pain in the ass to get the car back if (when) I break it.

And Cuddas, have you seen the results of any of the discussions about MSNZ affiliation? Most I've taken notice of have been 50/50 or a complete shambles. This is more of a forum than a motorsports club anyway and considering that the whole club is transfixed on a single event per year, MSNZ affiliation would be a massive waste of time and effort IMO.

i have no issues orginising another trackday, but WTF is the point in my paying my CS membership for another term?

A trackday is a trackday, and the orginiser stands to loose money, I personally am a member of CS for things like MM, where you can socilalise with like minded individuals. I want to do, but i think its bullshit that Aucklanders moan that it costs so much to come down to CHCH, where southerners have gone up EVERY year with out complaints.

All we ask is we get a chance to host one. but im over this arguement. also over the committee's incatvitiy and lack of communication and direction.

yis missing the point, we would want the club as a whole to get together, as a lot down here miss out on MM's held up north, yea yea we cud do a SI MM or trackday, but are we a club or what?

what a crock of sh1t, its OK for members to pay to come up there, but god forbid youd have to crack open yr wallet to come down here.

as has been said the SI track is cheap and the taupo track can be cheap by doing a certain track of the track.

running these both as a split MM would cost the same as a normal priced track? discount would go towards paid members from both islands, toward there track.

This may show even better numbers as both islands would have a trackday so this gives everyone a chance to go?

and both islands would be happy?

Im confused as to why the whole club has to be together in one spot, when obviously no matter were we have it someone will complain and everyone wont be together anyway.

The way I read that is that its too expensive for most members to make the journey north for a MM. So why would you think that any of the North Islanders can afford to come down here when most can't make the opposite trip? Thats why I think having SI meetings and NI meetings are way more feasible. The whole aura surrounding the name MEGAMEET is complete bullshit and should just be treated as another trackday/fun weekend as it has completely killed off anyone else organising separate meetings cause everyone just says "lets just wait til MM".

If you want to meet up/socialise with a bunch of people, get B-Rad to organise another Coro cruise and go camping with him and Clint, you'll definitely get to know everyone then.

Still the best fun I've had on a CS organised activity.

ok so ill go book Ruapuna under the ClubSUB name, me, cuddas, Gazzy and Mattapo, will go for a fang and the club can pick up the tab?

sounds good to me...

Why not get some motivation up the committee to go back to the way of more than one event per year, then it would be entirely feasible to get club sponsorship of a southern event. Rather than just being bitchy about it.

so is that all that turned up to your previous trackday?

-smurff

Of course its not, but im not going to personally book the track and risk loosing money again...

I asked to put the last one i ran through the CS bank account and got denyed. so the Club got minimal exposure. but as CS wasnt involved there was no benifit to any paid members.

if we are having a local MM you tell me what benifits there are for anyone to pay their subs.

and dont tell me about the sponsors discounts, because i can get 10-20% out of my local dairy just for asking...

have a SI and NI, do like other event, have a set number of people that have to come to make each track happen, collect non refundable deposits (unless numbers ant meet), so once numbers are meet, no one will be left paying the bill and we can have 2 track days.

like Koom says, people are to concerned with the one meet to rule them all

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
